Turns out I
After actually
looking at the letter, I found out I received $75k. A generous offer no doubt, but I'll likely be withdrawing soon.

does anyone know if emory gives a travel stipend? can't seem to find one anywhere and between flights, hotel, and two $40 cab rides... that's expensive!

Just out of curiosity.. If I want to send a LOCI to Emory, how do you think I should submit it? I haven't sent any others out...
I'm pretty new on here, so thanks for any help!

Still not sure if I'll go to Emory, though I was accepted with 45k scholarship and liked the handwritten note.
Anyhoo, FAFSA and the CSS Profile need to be in by now right? Just finished and submitted FAFSA yesterday, I think the priority deadline for some schools was Feb 1 for the profile, so I'm a bit worried.

Have you been waitlisted yet?
Generally, LOCIs should be reserved for those on WLs. Think about it this way - if you DO get WLed in the future (and you had already sent a LOCI), you already blew your chance to update Emory on your recent accomplishments.
At least wait until mid-Mar or so to consider sending one out...

That does make sense; I haven't heard anything back from them yet, so I'll wait a while before sending anything out. Do you submit it through LSAC somehow though? Snail mail?

Send it directly to the admissions office; snail-mail is preferable, but I think e-mail is OK

I respectfully retract my statement on looking over a greek dorm. I didn't realize how cheap rent is in Atlanta! On craigslist, luxury apartments with free gym membership, valet parking, sundeck, movie theater, pools, basically the shiz are 850/month. That's literally under a 3rd of what that would cost in NYC.
On that note, I am thinking that a bedroom in a house would prob be sub-400, and one can prob get a house with a pool for this price. Would any people if they are going possibly be interested in getting a bunch of law students together to rent a house for a year?

Emory's Res Life page for graduate students (
http://www.emory.edu/HOUSING/GRAD/gradhouse.html ) links to two places, the first one has the luxury facilities. That might be the one you're talking about I think? Name is Campus Crossings at Briarcliff. Didn't know ads were up on craigslist too! :O

oh i just typed emory into craigslist atlanta. i know the website has stuff listed, but i would check on my own. i don't need to live with all law students to feel comfortable in a city. american people are a good bunch, and i can be content anywhere nice, well priced and american.

Haha thanks! $1500 is not going to make or break my decision on whether or not to attend
Also, does anyone else
love that Emory is hosting their ASW on a Saturday? Not having to miss work FTW! I will definitely be attending.

Congrats Krad!!! I think most schools do their ASW during the week so that you can sit in on an actual class, but not missing work will be sweet.

very excited about this, I think emory might be the one for me

I wish the ASD was earlier though, if I don't like it, it doesn't give me much time...

People who have received acceptance letters very recently (ie, today, yesterday, or over the wknd): did you receive the e-mail about being a frat/sorority house mentor?
Trying to figure out if the 2nd batch has been sent yet..
