Oh yeah I think this makes total sense. The play-by-play updates for each acceptance/scholarship offer is just overkill IMO.

I guess I should have clarified that only family members have asked about this. I'm not doing this with acquaintances and friends.

to be fair, Facebook was more like Twitter back in those days

Our high school senior yearbook had this great idea to interview people about where they were going to college. I got asked to participate. Publishing deadline for the yearbook was ~Feb., didn't hear back from most schools until late March/April 1st. Cue my face being forever enshrined in the yearbook next to the name of a school that WLed me.
