Re: U Washington
Went blank. Considering I've only been in review for a week and my numbers aren't that great, I guess I'm expecting a ding from my own undergrad. Ouch.

For those who got in, was there a "first deposit due" at the fee section?

I got no mailing info. Just a blank status checker. We may be in the same batch.uwb09 wrote:decision, snail mail waiting game beginslifeaway1985 wrote:Went blank today. Does that mean acception or just decision???

Sounds like you applied to a lot of the same schools I did. I'm taking UIUC with $30K/yr.dcrlo3 wrote:WL received today.. USC looking great. Blank w/ mailings on 3/15 and 3/17. Northwest is my stomping grounds and they are just killing me.. 167 3.62 no $ from Lewis and Clark and WL UW.. UIUC w/ 25k and USC in ($ not yet reported) making my decision much easier.

So jealous of you all you blanks. I'm trying to be patient, but at this point it seems just a little discourteous. Why do you have the earliest application deadline if you're not going to do any serious reviewing until March?

Re: U Washington
this is my theory regarding UW
they have the earliest deadline + they claim to not review any applications till after this deadline
SO, I think they take every single application they get, and they divide them into 3 groups
A - Auto Accept in relation to the group as a whole
B - Auto Reject in relation to the group as a whole
C - Undecided
then they take all those Undecided, and do the process all over again, but now the accept/reject standards are altered based on the new group as a whole
maybe as they get into the later rounds they work in a waitlist methodology also

Re: U Washington
It's a reasonable theory, but if it's true, they should remove the language that says they review them in the order completed.uwb09 wrote:this is my theory regarding UW

I'm just a little fed up. I was really, really hoping I'd get a signal by the end of this week, and now I'm guessing I won't hear anything until after their spring break. I'll be perfectly happy to end up in Boulder if I get rejected, but if that's what's coming, I wish they'd tell me so I can get on with it.

Re: U Washington
well i literally applied an hour before the deadline, so if they are reviewing them in order received, they must almost be done

Re: U Washington
Darn it, I was thinking the reason I'm not blank was because I applied on 1/15 just before noon, but I guess that's not it.uwb09 wrote:well i literally applied an hour before the deadline, so if they are reviewing them in order received, they must almost be done

I'm pretty sure someone asked a member of the admissions committee about their admissions policies, and that is indeed how they do it.uwb09 wrote:this is my theory regarding UW

Re: U Washington
honestly, if i was running a law school, that's how I would do it
i'd just keep going until I've admitted the max amount that previously determined, then instead of admitting start waitlisting, until you pretty much just run out of applications

Blanked status checker. I really would love to get this, but my pen is poised to sign the check to L & C if it's a ding.

Re: U Washington
congrats on UIUC great school.. they really know how to make you feel welcome too, w/ mailings and emails. I will most likely be a Trojan b/c west coast is preferred, but UIUC makes it a tough decision.TCS wrote:Sounds like you applied to a lot of the same schools I did.
