Did you apply recently?lawschooliseasy wrote:I just got waitlisted with a 166/3.6... are you serious?
Sounds like since UGA gets so many apps they fill their seats pretty quickly with the numbers they want and they cannot take anyone else, even if your numbers are above both medians.

Re: Univ of Georgia
I called to find out what the deal was with my app (still not complete on the status check/Inside Georgia) and they told me that they are just getting the forms and also got 500 last minute applications. I'm screwed
. I guess I can visit if I'm WL'd, but still.

And I was just waitlisted with 167/3.7. LSN doesn't show anyone else in my range waitlisted. What's going on?lawschooliseasy wrote:I just got waitlisted with a 166/3.6... are you serious?

LOL! They start accepting apps in Oct and 500 other jerks like me decide to wait until the bitter, bloody end to turn em in. Too funnythey are just getting the forms and also got 500 last minute applications.

Re: Univ of Georgia
I sent a whole bunch of last minute apps (because of an LSAT increase), so I don't think it's all that big of a deal. Just reporting what they told me if people care.atfarmer wrote:LOL! Anyway, I think the high LSAT/high GPA WL's are YP at this point since it's the end of the cycle. I'm more interested to see if my splitter app is more convincing than the other 165/166 and sub 3.0's (I doubt it; if I'm WL, I'll visit and see if it helps).

Ah, thanks. Well, it says they've received my application but not all of my materials.Georgia doesn't always send a confirmation. If you haven't already, register at their website. That will give you the status checker.
I'm suddenly not liking my chances, 165 or not

I don't know if it's YP, if someone is OOS it could just be that they don't have more room for OOS people.keg411 wrote: Anyway, I think the high LSAT/high GPA WL's are YP at this point since it's the end of the cycle.

Definitely agree with this ... people aren't just talking out of their asses when they tell you applying early can make a big difference.rad law wrote:I don't know if it's YP, if someone is OOS it could just be that they don't have more room for OOS people.keg411 wrote: Anyway, I think the high LSAT/high GPA WL's are YP at this point since it's the end of the cycle.

+1. I applied OOS with numbers slightly higher than those above. I applied in November, but they had to wait on my Dec. LSAT. I got in with $$.missvik218 wrote:Definitely agree with this ... people aren't just talking out of their asses when they tell you applying early can make a big difference.rad law wrote:I don't know if it's YP, if someone is OOS it could just be that they don't have more room for OOS people.keg411 wrote: Anyway, I think the high LSAT/high GPA WL's are YP at this point since it's the end of the cycle.

Lack of UGA YP. For those waitlisted, especially OOS people, I recommend writing a LOCI ASAP, because there's a great probability that lots of OOS people will withdraw, and then your high numbers will get you taken off the waitlist.missvik218 wrote:Definitely agree with this ... people aren't just talking out of their asses when they tell you applying early can make a big difference.rad law wrote:I don't know if it's YP, if someone is OOS it could just be that they don't have more room for OOS people.keg411 wrote: Anyway, I think the high LSAT/high GPA WL's are YP at this point since it's the end of the cycle.

Got scholarship info today! Huge envelope for one sheet of paper. Dated March 9th.
Got the weird in-state equalization for Spring Semester only offer. I didn't expect ANY money with my numbers so I'm pleased

I got the same thing!! Yay!
(164/3.6, accepted 2/1)
Oops, of course I'm OOS... since it's an in-state tuition equalizer. Haha, guess I was a little too excited

Okay, so the random WL's are just WL's and not YP
.
On the plus side, I'm in review. Waiting for the WL/rejection since there is apparently no more room for OOS-ers and splitters

Seriously, if you really want to go, LOCI and ride out the waitlist, especially if your numbers are strong.keg411 wrote:Okay, so the random WL's are just WL's and not YP.

I'm a splitter. And if I'm WL'd, I'll LOCI and visit. I'm kind of concerned at this point in the cycle that they'll just reject me (even though looking at LSN, it's kind of an irrational thought).rad law wrote:Seriously, if you really want to go, LOCI and ride out the waitlist, especially if your numbers are strong.keg411 wrote:Okay, so the random WL's are just WL's and not YP.

Re: Univ of Georgia
I was on a personalized tour with the assistant director of something or other in the admissions office today. She said they have 2,000 more applications than last year. So, yeah that might explain the waitlist thing.
I have a feeling they filled up thier numbers, and now they don't have room, even if you're great.
The good part of this, is if your numbers are high and you are w/l I bet you have a chance of getting in.
Im oos 165/3.06 and i got a 15k scholly. I'm sure there are many people on WL with better numbers. So I woudl say hold on, wait for people to withdraw, and I'm sure they would love to have some of you.
Good Luck all!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
