I understand why they let their Auto-in people know first, but it doesn't seem to help their matriculation rate according to LSN, and it makes them seem like they don't know what the "E" in "ED" stands for.
As a RD person, I must respectfully rabble rabble rabble in response to this.

The consensus is settle down. Youll find out soon enough and, honestly, no one on this board has any idea until the decisions come out.
I had a revelation today that the status checkers don't matter at all. You find out when you find out, and 99 times out of 100 you don't find out via the status checker. You find out that a decision has been made, but rarely what it actually was.

It won't stop me from checking any of them, but an interesting revelation nonetheless.
Not sure about that. Both of my current decisions first appeared via status checker -- UGA (Congratulations!) and Duke PT (Decision made, you will be notified soon).

But yes, for many schools, you are notified in some other way first.

Ms. Lucky, when did you go complete? I've been sitting at the same status for quite a while myself.

I don't think the status change means the same thing for EDs and RDs. This is the first status updates for EDs (except the one or two acceptances for EDs with exceptional numbers which would put them at the same level as auto-admit RDs) so I hardly believe that they are rolling out rejections already for EDs. It might not even mean anything..it can be that it means: we just seriously look at your application for the first time since we were dealing with RDs before.

Why would help in figuring out is asking those who got the update if they are ED or RD and then evaluating numbers from there?

i'll start:...ED

I'm ED and this is my second status change, and I think it definitely does mean something. What that something is, I don't know.

Under review! Submitted 11/10, complete 11/12. They must be starting another batch?

Haha, maybe the GULC admissions office lurkers saw my post. In which case, I guess puppins will get in pretty soon.

Application Under Review
11/18/2009

Went complete 11/3 myself, so this is good news. Still no change, but hopefully tomorrow will be my day. Looking forward to getting ONE of my status checkers to update (suits me right for procrastinating after I got my CCN apps in).

Edit: Scratch that! Went under review at ~ 6:30 pm :D
