Do y'all know why they wait to release rejections? Is it because they don't want people to "guess" if they were straight rejects or went to fr?

Seems like a good reason to me. Another reason could be that they just don't have the time for this, so they get to the rejection emails once they've read all the files. Given Asha's twitter update, it could be this weekend

My gut feeling: a large bunch of rejections today and tomorrow, with possibly the WL'ed, and some admits. A last wave of admits next weekend. Then a very small trickle of admits, rejections and maybe a few WL until the end of April.

The sheer number of decisions YLS has to send out this month is very high. Over 90% of applicants still haven't heard anything!

Not sure about rejections. Last year on the 2nd of April they conducted admit calls. Anything is fair game, but I suspect their priorities are not rejections right now, but admits in order to secure them for the Fall.

All the admissions office needs to do when they reach a decision to reject is to tick a little box on the LSAC file that says "denied". Then, whenever they get to it, they press a button--that I can only imagine is very large and gleaming red---that says "send rejections". And then, around 4:30am on the next Sunday morning, we all get a nice generic email that thanks us for our interest in YLS and congratulates us on our achievements so far, but unfortunately blablabla.

My gut feeling (given those recent tweets): that big rejection wave will be this weekend. Possibly next weekend, but this weekend seems more likely. Anyway, if you went complete before 1/15 (or maybe even 2/1), you probably have your answer already. WL at best. Otherwise there still is some hope. For a few hours.

Looking over the last 3 years on LSN, there's always been at least one rejection wave by this point in the cycle. So, while admits will likely continue at a trickle, we're definitely overdue for a big rejection wave.

The sheer number of decisions YLS has to send out this month is very high. Over 90% of applicants still haven't heard anything!

Over 90% of applicants don't get in, so a big rejection wave ought to take care of that...
