Complete mid December and still nothing. I'd appreciate my inevitable ding if it's all the same to SLS so I can just grieve and move on

Complete at the beginning of October, and not a single peep since.
I'm truly shocked I have not been dinged yet. Is it possible that they're holding me for the WL?

Tbh I alternate between delusions of grandeur about being accepted and desperation for a WL/ding.pretzeltime wrote:

I'd just been assuming that I was alternating between the denial and acceptance stages of WL/ding grief, but delusions of grandeur sound more fun. I'm going with that.theothercat wrote:Tbh I alternate between delusions of grandeur about being accepted and desperation for a WL/ding.pretzeltime wrote:

Re: Stanford C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017 Cycle)
Yeah dodging so many ding waves has really pumped me up into thinking I'm getting waitlisted. That or they are like "hmm he's a weak applicant numbers wise but we really like him, so let's wait till we've met our quota of high stats to admit". But I'm prob wrong and will get rejected eventually lol. But I will admit I'm pretty happy being UR here as we approach April, as opposed to lower schools like Vandy and others, whose rep doesn't make up for the deafening silence.pretzeltime wrote:

Both great schools capable of leading me to success, but Stanford is in a much better location to me. Smaller class size is also very nice.dyebri wrote:Would you guys take Stanford over Harvard and why

Is 'under review' and "submitted for review" the same thing?

Long time lurker. First time poster. Part of the Sept crew. The agony is real. Finally sent a LOCI a few weeks ago. Still radio silence (other than acknowledgement of the LOCI). At this point a WL would be glorious.SmallK wrote:I'd just been assuming that I was alternating between the denial and acceptance stages of WL/ding grief, but delusions of grandeur sound more fun. Has anyone had the experience where a LOCI (as recommended in the blog after a couple of months) was explicitly acknowledged as being additive?PLT56 wrote:Long time lurker. First time poster. Re: Stanford C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017 Cycle)
i mean the only time that would happen is on an admit call, right? there prob aren't too many anecdotes for that. but I feel like a LOCI can't hurt (unless you accidentally say "Harvard"), might help, and doesn't take that long to produce.......LHS17 wrote:Has anyone had the experience where a LOCI (as recommended in the blog after a couple of months) was explicitly acknowledged as being additive?PLT56 wrote:Long time lurker. I'm 99% sure we will all be WL or accepted if we've survived the relentless ding waves this long (probably WL sadly).
ETA: if we get WL, we might literally wait a year before receiving a final decision (after S orientation)
