I wouldn't be too pessimistic. It's only been a month, which in the grand scheme of things isn't much. Haha I doubt it! Isn't going UR2/UR3 usually a good thing since it means they're considering you and you're still in the running? I hope I'm not getting this whole UR thing wrong lolbrinicolec wrote:Yeh I'm not sure what caused me to go UR2 already. Hopefully nothing bad lol

Just had my interview with Chris Colby
Went really well, I think. Lasted longer than I expected, too! (approx 45 minutes, but quite honestly it was a lot of him answering my questions rather than vice versa.)

Do we think its possible, as there has not been nearly as much movement since late Oct/ mid Nov, that they're kind of waiting to see what happens with the December tests? As in they got the students they wanted from pre-sept/sept apps and now they want to be able to compare Dec before they interview the rest of us and such? OR am I just deluding myself to try and make the silence hurt less?

Not sure if they're waiting necessarily, but Spivey did say that we may be looking at a slower cycle this year because December test registrations were up by so much.yuppitsme wrote:Do we think its possible, as there has not been nearly as much movement since late Oct/ mid Nov, that they're kind of waiting to see what happens with the December tests? Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Is it possible that December test registrations are up because there was a shift in the overlap between the test registration deadline and results? I could be wrong, but I thought as recently as September, you still had time to decide if you wanted to sign up for the next test date, even if you waited until after you received your score. However, I believe now you may have to commit early to the next exam date. This might have an impact on registrants vs the actual number of test takers. Anyone have real info on this?

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
that happened last year too and they give you a refund if you tell them you don't want to retake by a certain date. Not sure if that would account for such a large jump, but its possible some takers will go down.Ifoundnemo wrote:Is it possible that December test registrations are up because there was a shift in the overlap between the test registration deadline and results? I wonder if part of it is September takers who cancelled their scores. I thought I remembered Spivey tweeting something about a lot of people cancelling after the September test.Keilz wrote:that happened last year too and they give you a refund if you tell them you don't want to retake by a certain date. Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Chill, median score overall is still like a 153 and UVA's median is still ~96th percentile. So that's statistically maybe an extra couple hundred people entering the competitive applicant pool, which would mean less than a 10% increase in UVA's applicant pool overall. Not to mention all those people will be applying in January.poptart123 wrote:fuck that's like 4000 takersbrinicolec wrote:govlife wrote:This is the post about registrations.
