Eff that. I hear pretty damn good things about the grapes in Northern California, though...canafsa wrote:Waitlisted. Those grapes were sour anyways.

Re: Chicago C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
just had my interview, nothing unexpected really. lasted about 19 mins. The questions that I was asked:
1. why undergraduate institution? why law? why Uchicago?
2. one accomplishment that you are really proud of?
3. one person you would like to meet, dead or living?
4. if you are the speaker of the house, what policy issue would you have debated?
5. one book that changed your outlook on life?
6. If you could redo one thing in your life, what would it be?
7. one social issue that people are not paying enough attention to
8. what questions do you have for me?
9. anything you would like to emphasize for the admissions committee?
Does anyone know if I need to send in a thank-you letter?

Are you expected to really elaborate when you answer these questions? e.g. for #5 you probably shouldn't just name a book without any explanation, but how detailed should a typical answer be?unpetitpacifiste wrote:just had my interview, nothing unexpected really. lasted about 19 mins. Not that detailed I'd say, but I think they are definitely expecting a coherent, reasoned explanation. I think my answers generally last just over 1 minute.20172017 wrote:Are you expected to really elaborate when you answer these questions? e.g. for #5 you probably shouldn't just name a book without any explanation, but how detailed should a typical answer be?unpetitpacifiste wrote:just had my interview, nothing unexpected really. lasted about 19 mins. I sent one because I figured it didn't hurt and when I've interviewed at work (as in, I'm interviewer) it does definitely make a tangible difference to write a thank you. I'm below both medians and was accepted.unpetitpacifiste wrote:just had my interview, nothing unexpected really. lasted about 19 mins. The questions that I was asked:

Re: Chicago C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I had my interview yesterday, and not long after, my status checker changed to Under Review for 1/23. However, it changed date again today (1/24). Can those be seen as the same UR2 change post interview? Or could today's change been seen as a UR3 already?
Thanks
Thanks

What are we thinking will be the wait between UR3 and UR4? Is there any consistency for Chicago?

Re: Chicago C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
you do not need to send a thank you letter. in fact, i really recommend against it (this goes for OCI, too). the risk of messing something up with a grammar error or a blatant error is too high. if you expressed your enthusiasm for Harvard in your email but meant to send it to Chicago, it's an auto ding whereas if you do send one it's not an auto-admit. if it helps you relax, write one and let it sit in your drafts for a day before double and triple checking it prior to sending.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
