Just got a scholarship offer and it was lower than what I was hoping for. Does UT generally low ball and then give you something better upon renegotiation?

It seems like they've been somewhat conservative this cycle with initial offers. Their reconsideration process is straightforward - just present any relevant competing offers. I had good luck with the process - you can PM me. Its one time only though - keep that in mind.periwinkley wrote:Just got a scholarship offer and it was lower than what I was hoping for. Applied last year. Only Michigan increased their offer more than UT after negotiations.periwinkley wrote:Just got a scholarship offer and it was lower than what I was hoping for. Does UT generally low ball and then give you something better upon renegotiation?
Definitely send in other scholarship offers. Ask Mario when the best time to send them would be.

In-state reverse splitter accepted off the waitlist by phone call yesterday! Had to Google the phone number to make sure it wasn't an elaborate cruel prank. May have accidentally said "Is this real life?" on the call. Hold out hope waitlisters!

I got accepted 3/1 and I have yet to receive any info regarding scholarship/finance aid. They said I would hear 3-4 weeks later. Do they send a notification even if you aren't receiving aid, and how have people been contacted: mail or email?

I'd like a decision too please.
Is it me or is it odd they're taking people off the wait list before giving out all decisions.

You'll hear soon. They've done studies on the wait, you know. 60% of the time, you hear back every time.pantherlaw24 wrote:I got accepted 3/1 and I have yet to receive any info regarding scholarship/finance aid. Considering most of the waitlist admits were early decision initially and/or applied back in October or November I think it's great UT is showing them some love.WaitWaitDontSay wrote:I'd like a decision too please.![]()

I was accepted yesterday via phone but the status checker still shows "complete" and no other emails from UT except the one about their FB group. Is this normal? When is the deposit deadline?

I was wondering how soon after admittance people generally hear about scholarship offers? I know it's presumptuous, but I think I will be admitted (eventually), but I'm pushing up against some hard and fast deadlines for other schools.
