Congrats!
Seems like they're off their previous pattern of one month after UR you get an acceptance.

I'm trying really hard to play cool but internally I'm freaking out. Berkeley is my top choice and I've been waitlisted at other top schools. Fingers crossed...

It was actually maybe the best, because I woke up really excited and happy for no good reason

I'm such a splitter I made a pact with myself not to have top choices but.... Berkeley has the program I like.... and the location....

Well as long as you didn't wake up sad! Berkeley is pretty fantastic so hopefully you get some good news! I was walking around the campus/Berkeley this last weekend visiting an old college friend and was making way too many Freudian slips about the possibility of returning.

Berkeley is pretty much a perfect place to go to school. Awesome weather, nice campus, good academics, D1 football/basketball (hey I didn't say good football/basketball!) right on campus, cool urban area- probably the worst thing about Berkeley is Evans Hall, no lie.gobears!! wrote:TheKisSquared wrote:It was actually maybe the best, because I woke up really excited and happy for no good reason

I wish the matching scholarship process was a little more transparent. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme/reason in past years' threads as to what causes some people to have their offers matched and others to have their offers declined.
I'm completely enamored with Berkeley (for many of the reasons just mentioned as well as some personal ones), but I am incredibly nervous about receiving enough merit aid (especially compared to some other offers).

QFE; If by some miracle I'm admitted I'd be requesting a matching scholarship but it doesn't really seem like that's worth much...urbanist11 wrote:I wish the matching scholarship process was a little more transparent. If Berkeley matched even half of what I submitted, I would be ecstatic, but I'm not holding my breath...

I spent four years there when our football was at its worst. I made sure I ventured to Berkeley for every game this year because we were "decent"GrumpyYellowOgre wrote:Outing myself a little here... but what these guys/gals say is true. Someone earlier reported WLs and dings sometimes go out a day early, too so... our waiting may be over soon, one way or the otherMrR10 wrote:Oh man. I just want to get this over with. I also had a dream about Berkeley last night, but not a good oneclarf wrote:D-Day T-Minus 48 hours.
