Is it possible, though, that the scholarship offers come via acceptance packet like UVA rather than email? Has anyone actually received their physical packets yet? I know the Dean mentioned that mine would be sent soon, but I don't remember any past admits mentioning getting the packet in the mail (I could be wrong though).cc1012 wrote:My guess would be that yes, they are. I believe that the law school got a new dean this year so maybe that could be a reason for a possible change.gamerish wrote:Looking through last cycle's thread, they sent out the full tuition scholarship with acceptance but I haven't seen anyone in this thread, the spreadsheet or on mylsn for this cycle so far. It's certainly possible. As far as I know, no one on TLS has received their admit packet yet.skimmilk wrote:Is it possible, though, that the scholarship offers come via acceptance packet like UVA rather than email? Honestly, I don't think it will matter much, but I would wear a jacket, shirt, tie and the bottom of your choice. I don't think theres any downside risk to doing so. Some people say it looks over the top, but i disagree. Also, other schools state that the dress code is professional (which means jacket, shirt, and tie) so I would just err on the side of caution.uhwrestler wrote:hey guys for the interview would you recommend just shirt and tie or shirt, tie and suit jacket? is the suit jacket necessary? i haven't worn a suit since i was 16 so my jacket doesn't fit anymore. should i buy a suit jacket asap for the interview? and should i clean shave or is a little bit of shadow ok? i look way better and more mature with a shadow.
Regardless, I wore a suit and gave a shit interview in my opinion (got cut off for 2 of the questions, was clearly rushed at the end of the other 2) and I was accepted in 5 days.

Interviewed 12/12, I've had two date changes since then but other than that nothing. Should I send a LOCI?

I don't think so. LOCI's are typically for when you're waitlisted, and you're still waiting for your decision. If you applied to the school and you interviewed last month, they're going to assume you're still interested. At least this is my impression.missie wrote:Interviewed 12/12, I've had two date changes since then but other than that nothing. Should I send a LOCI?

Interview request 1/15 sent it in yesterday and had a date change today to 1/26...anyone have an idea on how long it's been taking folks to get a decision after the interview? Is this date change normal and then another comes prior to the final decision?

It took me a month after my date change after my interview. So I wouldn't take it as certain you're getting your decision today.BillClinton Jr wrote:Budfox55 wrote:I got my decision on the first date change after my interview.BillClinton Jr wrote:Interview request 1/15 sent it in yesterday and had a date change today to 1/26...anyone have an idea on how long it's been taking folks to get a decision after the interview? In prepping for my interview I went through this thread and compiled final interview questions/advice. I've reproduced it here if it helps anyone else.
- Video Interview with unlimited practice time with sample questions. These sample questions do seem to differ from the actual interview questions. Once you start the timer, though, you have to finish. Each session asks you to record yourself answering four questions. For each questions you have 30 seconds to prepare and one full minute to answer. Suggested dress is business casual (Jacket, shirt and tie). If they can't see your legs, they obviously don't care what you're wearing there but... I'd uh stay on the cautious side.
- Admissions seems pretty generous/understanding with awkwardness, and barely anyone here (if anyone) seems to have been admitted without an interview. That said, do take it seriously. Better to be awkward and prepared than awkward and unprepared, right?
Questions found in this thread (THANK YOU EVERYONE). I tried to only pull questions actually used during an interview.
-Describe the best class you've taken
-what is your favorite book?
-what are you looking for in a law school community?
-what motivates you intrinsically?
-Discuss a time you helped someone achieve their goal. (x3)
-What do you do in your leisure time? (x3)
-Discuss a failure in your life.(x2 or 3)
-Describe your ideal law school.
-Why Ithaca?
-Why undergrad school
-What are your hobbies outside of work and school.
-Name an experience that broadened your outlook.
-What do you hope to attain with an education at Cornell.
-If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where and why
-Advice you'd give to a senior in high school re: picking a college major
-What your expectations are of a Cornell Law education
-Discuss a meaningful life experience
-Besides Cornell Law, what is attractive about Ithaca?
-What are three character traits your friends would use to describe you?
-Describe an experience that has broadened your perspective.

Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Just finished the interview. I am not quite sure how it went. I did a lot of practice until the questions began to repeat and it definitely helped with getting used to the platform. However, it still felt unnatural and I felt like I was talking too fast because there was never enough time to answer the question I felt. But overall I felt okay about it. Hopefully I'll hear back soon before I can agonize over my responses.
My questions were:
1. If you had one day to do anything in the world, what would you do and why?
2. What is a mistake you have made in your academic or professional life and what did you learn?
2. If you could give advice to an high school student, what advice would you give about how to choose an undergraduate major?
3. Why Cornell law?
