I missed the call and they left a voicemail asking that I call them back. They then accepted me on my return call. I think it would be a little presumptious to tell them that your phone is not working, if they admit you they'll probably email you if you don't call them back.dizzystpizzy wrote:Others ITT have mentioned receiving confirmation emails the day of an acceptance call. Yeah I got an email within a few hours! Also they left a voicemail asking me to call back so even if you don't have service you may have a voicemail waiting for you. No status checker. I feel like there's a correlation between uselessness of status checker and rank of schools ... I missed the phone call last night. He left a voicemail to call back, and I did with no answer. I haven't received an e-mail today though.lemondrop wrote:Yeah I got an email within a few hours! Call them back tomorrow morning! That was almost definitely an acceptance call.personagrata wrote:I missed the phone call last night. He left a voicemail to call back, and I did with no answer. The timing of the calls is pretty peculiar. I don't know why the admissions officers are working at that time. And I can't be the only one who got the call while drinking on a Saturday night (mine came during the Final Four).Dcc617 wrote:Who sends that tweet at 900 PM on a Friday? They certainly keep an odd schedule. However, since it worked for you, I think I'm just going to start drinking all of the time in the hope that I, too, receive a call.WinterComing wrote:The timing of the calls is pretty peculiar. This is the kind of thinking that will get you into Yale. I'm also going to do this.Smc1994 wrote:They certainly keep an odd schedule. Stop drinking. I did. Went to voicemail and it was too late to call back, but I'm pretty sure it's the call.

I went complete at the end of October and I still haven't heard back. I decided fuck it, I'm choosing Harvard. Yale treats us like crap, expecting us to answer their phone calls at 10:30pm after 6 months, while Harvard sent me a signed book on constitutional law. I don't need Yale as much as they think I need them.

I wish I could have this attitude about it... I've been putting off deciding between other schools with the hope that I'd soon hear either way from Yale, but now deadlines are quickly approaching and getting harder not to justify just choosing somewhere I've already been accepted.thwolfe wrote:I went complete at the end of October and I still haven't heard back. Are you in at Harvard or Stanford? If you're in at the top three then what difference will Yale really make down the line? Excel in any and you're golden.

In at H/S, but right now seriously leaning toward taking the Ruby at Chicago. It's a happy, tough decision to make regardless of the outcome from Yale.

Does the lack of tweet mean that calls haven't stopped or..?

At this point it's safe to assume anything is possible. Wouldn't put it past them to make a few calls this evening.hopeful94 wrote:Does the lack of tweet mean that calls haven't stopped or..?
I think they feel the pressure too - we surely aren't the first to get impatient and I doubt they believe they are so great that we will wait on them forever.. It's probably just really tough to decide who will get those few precious last seats.

Re: Yale c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It's an interesting question of how much transparency applicants are owed, and at what point in the cycle decisions need to be provided. I don't think applicants are owed anything except a thorough reading of their files, really--and YLS is very honest from the get-go in regards to mostly notifying in April.
I will say I wish all files that didn't make it to FR had been notified by now. If those files' owners have a 0% chance of getting in, it seems kinder to let them know sooner rather than later. But kindness in this case may not be efficient or practical.

If you're so inclined, it's also within LSAC's ethical guidelines to commit to another school before hearing from Yale, not withdraw your Yale app, and then change your commitment if you get in.thwolfe wrote:I went complete at the end of October and I still haven't heard back. Friends, it looks like our time grows short. Last year, last few admits happened on the Monday of this week, followed by rejects on Tuesday, followed by WL on Wednesday.
Not to be presumptuous, but if you get on the WL, how long do you plan on riding it? I would stick around until June, I think.
