+2 (or is it 3 in this case). Michigan was a long shot for me and I know this is likely to mean no money but I would really hate to have to turn it down because of that. Hoping for even a little bit of monetary love from themGoogleWasMyIdea wrote:+1. I've been waiting for a month now. Got a big offer just now and also wondering about this.NotoriousRBGJr. wrote:Just got my merit aid offer. Honestly a little disappointed. The letter said they don't negotiate or rather 'compete'..is this actually the case?
Someone asked earlier ITT and the answer was uncertain but basically, doesn't hurt to try. Maybe they mean it and they won't budge, or maybe it's just an attempt to stifle bargaining.
Either way, makes sense to wait for more leverage. I'm not sure when negotiating open season really begins

If the stats in your history are correct, I think that's a good offer.Egzon wrote:90k scholarship... I don't know if I could have expected more with my stats.

Would love this to be offered to me, regardless of my ability to be awarded in excess (not a comment on Egzon's attitude, just a sincere comment on my desire for decent money this cycle).hillz wrote:If the stats in your history are correct, I think that's a good offer.Egzon wrote:90k scholarship... Same boat. Accepted in early-mid November and haven't heard anything. I have a full-ride offer at my second choice, but Michigan is the dream and I'm doing my best not to lose hope. Hopefully we all hear something soon!jumbo2016 wrote:+2 (or is it 3 in this case). Does being URM delay scholarship offers at all? Maybe they are waiting to see how the class fills out and how many URMs have competitive stats?

I don't imagine there's much more than anecdotal evidence available either way.cc1012 wrote:Does being URM delay scholarship offers at all? Maybe they are waiting to see how the class fills out and how many URMs have competitive stats?

Has anyone done the Darrow interview yet? If so, anything to report back? Mine's in about a week.

Seems like they've been especially generous with $ this cycle, hope other schools follow suit

Anyone know if Darrow invites are in lieu of traditional scholarship offers or a separate thing?

Still sitting at complete early October... really far above one 75th and between 50 and 75th on the other. I submitted an optional essay but not a "Why Michigan". Does Michigan have a reputation for YP?

My impression (from TLS and other sources) is that if you're invited to apply for a Darrow but don't end up getting one, they may (or may not) then offer you other merit and need aid from other sources.mojojojo! wrote:Anyone know if Darrow invites are in lieu of traditional scholarship offers or a separate thing?

Clearly they claim that YP as traditionally understood is not a thing at least at Michigan, but who knows? I don't think they have anywhere near as strong a reputation as, say, UVA.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
