Mine changed to "decision finalized" and I called and emailed to see if this could be told via email/phone and they said they only send decisions via snail mail. Is this a lie? I'm confused now...

USC doesn't release decisions over the phone. You'll get an email (usually within a few hours), if it's an acceptance. Snail mail for dings and waitlists.coolcat08 wrote:Mine changed to "decision finalized" and I called and emailed to see if this could be told via email/phone and they said they only send decisions via snail mail. I've been in CR2 for a month now. I'm dying....
And I really wanted to be admitted before Accepted Students' Weekend
although if I'm admitted at all, my life would be complete!

Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
In on March 20th, scholarship info came yesterday.
I'm still weighing my options but I'm really pleased with the outcome because I absolutely love my alma mater. I have quite a few friends from undergrad who are now at the law school and they speak very highly of their experience there. I'd feel comfortable going back-to-back with my degree, plus, I already have all of the game day gear, so...
Stats/potentially relevant info: half-URM, alum, (just barely) above 25th for GPA/LSAT.
Good luck to all still waiting!

Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
I applied Jan 21, was in CR1 by Jan 27, CR2 Feb 6 and CR2 (date change) Feb 9. And nothing since. Non-URM.
Should I send a LOCI or something? Does USC like that sort of thing?
LSAT = at 75%; GPA = between 25th and 50th. Heard Cali schools care more about GPA in general. Does it sound like a ding is on the way?

I'm told by many to go ahead and send a LOCI by now, even without getting waitlisted. Their website says they welcome LOCIs.tealeaves12 wrote:

I sent an updated resume and Why USC? a few weeks ago and was told that it was too late to add anything to my file.tealeaves12 wrote:I applied Jan 21, was in CR1 by Jan 27, CR2 Feb 6 and CR2 (date change) Feb 9. And nothing since. Non-URM.

It's been a while since the last big wave of acceptances. Here's to hoping we have one within the next few days! End of March, first days of April are usually big decision dates.

Re: USC c/o 2018 Applicants Thread (2014-2015)
And for my fellow URMs still waiting for decisions, I found this in the Stanford thread:
"To follow up on what other posters were discussing this morning, from my perusing the applicant threads from the last two years this weekend, I discovered that:
1) She typically makes calls on Monday,Tuesday and/or Wednesday prior to ASW.
2) These calls are typically to URMs and non-trads (military, PhDs, strong WE, etc)."
Maybe this is a pattern across the board...

Does anyone know if the travel stipends are gone for Law Day on 4/11? I can't find it on the portal.

Someone tried a couple of weeks ago and got shot down, but maybe someone will have backed out! I know deadline to reserve hotel room in their free block already passed though.LawsRUs wrote:They got rid of it. You can try emailing AO. If you are successful, could you pls pm me? Are you talking about Law Day? Was planning on it, but just realized it's the same weekend as Davis' ASW. As much as I'd love to stay in LA for USC (or UCLA), Davis is offering me what essentially amounts to a free ride and neither USC/UCLA has offered me enough to make them financially viable for me.LawsRUs wrote:Is anyone going to the reception coming this week?

Yay congrats on Davis!! Maybe we could trade impressions of each school.spencercross wrote:Are you talking about Law Day? Was planning on it, but just realized it's the same weekend as Davis' ASW. Guess I'll probably be going to Davis that weekend instead.LawsRUs wrote:Is anyone going to the reception coming this week?
And I was wondering if someone was going to this Thursday's reception in SF.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
