Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
Well, I'm trying to look at this as a good thing, even though it's hard to handle the waiting. My stats are below both medians, so I'm trying to just be happy that I haven't been dinged. Not super comforting, but it's something.Gray wrote:Dings for everyone. #losinghopetheramblingfool wrote:10/10 still. What does it all *mean*?!

Now I'm just going to expect them to hit the 10-week mark and change it to 8-12 weeks.

If your application is complete before December, this timeframe will begin on December 1.

Ouch. I wonder what's making them take so long. Maybe they're trying to get a better picture of the applicant pool due to fewer high LSAT takers or something.

Who knows, I've plugged my numbers into mylsn, lawschoolnumbers, etc. and have yet to find one applicant who did not get in, yet here I am after applying in September.Dog wrote:Ouch. I feel like I might, but who knows. I love NU. I'd love to go there.rion91 wrote:Pray that you don't get heldimKMart wrote:Love how they added the two weeks to their timelineGray wrote:penguino wrote:Anyone happen to notice they changed the wording on the DLS for decisions.....? haha. Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere. I tried searching the forums and didn't come up with much.
I recently received an invitation to interview with one of the admissions officers over Skype, but I completed an alumni interview back in early November (when I also went complete). I felt that the alumni interview went ok, but thought this might be a sign that they were still on the fence about my application and wanted to speak with me in person before making a final decision. My stats are competitive for Northwestern and I have 3+ years of work experience which I know they put particular emphasis on. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

I actually haven't heard of NU doing this, although I think I've seen it happen at other schools. If I had to guess, they're either on the fence about you or they're wondering if you're on the fence about them. If your numbers are competitive, the latter might be more likely.ms2014 wrote:I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere. I tried searching the forums and didn't come up with much.

If you're seriously interested in NU I would do the interview and be enthusiastic.

Yes, it happened to someone I know last year. Just be normal, they want to clear up something on your app and make sure you're not a weirdoms2014 wrote:I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere. I tried searching the forums and didn't come up with much.

Imagine what would happen if US News added "shortest decision times" to their rankings and took out acceptance rates. Instant acceptances!

Thanks for your responses. I'm glad to hear that the second interview request isn't completed unprecedented! I really want to end up in Chicago so Northwestern is one of the schools at the top of my list!Dog wrote:I actually haven't heard of NU doing this, although I think I've seen it happen at other schools. Hey, does anyone want to elaborate on their interview experience? I'm trying to prepare for an (on-campus) interview. I suck at interviews so I need to frantically practice in front of a mirror.
