That area was awesome! Question I forgot to ask, I saw like an espresso machine and a little kitchenette area, are those open to law students?BigZuck wrote:Oh. Attax I'm doing the law school walking tour for Thursday and not much else. What events are you going to?
Not sure I met either of you guys at the 4:30 walking tour? I was in khakis and a pink Brooks polo. Maybe I'll catch you at bar review/Friday's activities

Students spend plenty of time there wandering the halls trying to find their professors' offices. It's a maze.rion91 wrote:I don't know exactly, that's how my tour guide described it. You'd think they wouldn't make the law school any more maze-like considering how confusing the rest of the school is.shifty_eyed wrote:Students spend plenty of time there wandering the halls trying to find their professors' offices. Or maybe thats why they made another confusing addition to the school?
I was actually on that floor yesterday to speak to my LRW prof and then I asked her where another LRW prof's office was. Of course it was that other confusing area above student affairs. They can't even stick all the LRW profs on the same confusing floor, they have to divide them up between two confusing floors. I eventually found the office I was looking for but then couldn't find my way out and wandered by the journal offices before finding a staircase down that let me out in George's.
Long story short: I hate this brief

The confusing area above student affairs is at least numbered in a typical fashion. It just took me months to realize it existed.

With no apparent numbering logic.shifty_eyed wrote: Students spend plenty of time there wandering the halls trying to find their professors' offices. It's a maze.

The only time I questioned whether I actually deserved to be admitted to UT Law was when I spend 20 minutes trying to find my LRW prof's office and kept seeing numbers going up and then going down with no rhyme or reason.BVest wrote:With no apparent numbering logic.shifty_eyed wrote: Students spend plenty of time there wandering the halls trying to find their professors' offices. LST has large firm employment at 26.8% for last year. Is that the same? If so, WOWAttax wrote:Employment:

378 is base. So 33.33% biglaw, 10% fed clerkshipsBigZuck wrote:Sweet man, thanks. How many students total (aka what's the denominator?)Attax wrote:Employment:

It's gotta be 378 because there are 126 in biglaw. So thus clerkships= ~9%. Total Biglaw + Fedclerk= ~42.3%

Roughly 9 percent clerks it looks like so if they're sitting at 42% big law+clerkships that is good news, especially considering recent classes are like 50 people smaller than that one.

I'm not sure if our class size will actually end up being much smaller due to the buttload of transfers they have started taking each year though.

Increase from 69 at firms of 500+ to 91 this year with the same class size is just nuts though.
