Sorry, bro, but let them know they can give the spot to me.vicpin5190 wrote:i have a legit question. i wasn't expecting to get admitted so quickly and didn't budget my funds properly. The $900 deposit is due on the 20th but neithe my parents nor I can have the full amount by then. I know it is required by 5 days but would it be possible to ask for an extension. I want to commit for sure but like I said, i wasn't budgeting to hear back 10 days after applying.
any advice would really appreciated, whether here or via PM
Law school is cutthroat.

I would ask if you could put down a smaller amount, and the rest once you have it maybe?vicpin5190 wrote:i have a legit question. i wasn't expecting to get admitted so quickly and didn't budget my funds properly. I would personally try to secure a pay advance or a loan from a family member (nonparent) before I asked the law school. I mean, you're in, so I doubt it could hurt, but if they say no you will still need to find another option.
A lot of schools' bursars accept credit card payments. If you know you can pay within a month, that's a viable option.
Title loan or personal loan are last resort options.

Is the quick turn around on requiring the deposit a function of your ED status?vicpin5190 wrote:Thanks for the advice everyone. I think i figured out a solution that should work that won't involve me taking short term loans out. Will call admissions tomorrow and run it by them and see if it's a feasible plan.
Excited none the less.

ETA: Not because you're so late, but because Cornell is just that slow.

Applied ED 12-20, got on the waitlist today. I'm pretty surprised because Cornell was my longshot app.
