Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
Did anyone else take a really long time to go complete? I submitted 12/6, interviewed 10/12 (waited for a fee waiver), and I am still incomplete.
Is this normal? My status checker indicates that everything has been received as of 12/11 and I am assuming they are waiting for the interviewer to contact them. Is there a certain amount of time I should wait (ex: 2 months from submission) before I call the school?

Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
LOL. I have an interview January 3rd, I was able to move it up an entire month from Feb 1st by checking the site so maybe whomever was holding the january 31st slot can get lucky and get in early! Also, my question is for those of you in Chicago! I am taking a bus overnight to get in and was wondering if I can get access to a gym (does the school have a gym?) or somewhere I can take a shower and get dressed. My interview isn't until the afternoon so I'm looking to explore the campus before my interview and practice and then explore Chicago after until my overnight trip back. Any good places to check out? I've seen the bean, magnificent mile, etc. I want to find out where all the ethnic little cool independent places are...bananasplit19 wrote:twinkletoes16 wrote:alwayssunnyinfl wrote:They open again tomorrow…

The school doesn't have a gym, but the bathroom in the basement has showers, which I've heard aren't bad.Jacq2212 wrote:LOL. As far as a gym goes, I'm not sure I can be of much help. I am pretty sure the downtown campus has connections with a third party gym but that's for students. Evanston, of course, has full athletic facilities but that's a good 13 miles from the law school. You may be able to get a day pass to a LA Fitness or something for like $20. Just search gyms on Yelp around the campus.Jacq2212 wrote:LOL. Ethnic places make Chicago but they are spread all over the city. Be a little more specific on what you are looking for and how far you are willing to travel to get there.

Are you in the NYC area? I am, and I waited a really long time for an interviewer to be assigned (5+ weeks)... Apparently, they've been having trouble setting up interviews for folks around here due to Sandy. At least that's what the folks in the admissions office told me. Maybe you should drop them an email?

I would not wait 7 weeks for a reply about anything (besides a decision, of course) without checking back with the admissions office.WaitingandHopeful wrote:Approaching 7 weeks since requesting an off-campus interview.

I'm also in the NYC area and it took NU at least six weeks to assign me an interviewer (who doesn't actually live in NYC). I think they must have a major interview backlog or something like that.bluecouch wrote:Are you in the NYC area? I am, and I waited a really long time for an interviewer to be assigned (5+ weeks)... What basement? Also, I am arriving at 8AM, my interview is around 1PM, and I leave at 10PM, so I have a lot of free time to explore. And as long as public transit can get me there I am willing to travel.Kikero wrote: The school doesn't have a gym, but the bathroom in the basement has showers, which I've heard aren't bad.

I'd be a little wary of randomly going to take a shower at the place where you're interviewing.rinkrat19 wrote:The basement of Levy Mayer, the old building that faces Chicago Ave.Jacq2212 wrote:What basement? I don't really know what to suggest. There is Chinatown south, Greektown and Little Italy west, lots of theaters and cool old things north. You could check out the Evanston campus which is really quite nice. It's going to be cold and overcast so I don't think you'll really want to be outside...Jacq2212 wrote:What basement? I'll probably just end up at a gym with a one day pass.

So, I submitted my request for an off-campus interview on 12/1 -- the last day possible, so definitely not ideal on my part. However, I still have not received notice to check to portal to schedule my interview and it's been a full month.
Just wondering, how long did it take everyone else to get that notice?

Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
I requested an interview in mid-October, but I didn't hear anything back in the time frame (I believe it was within 3 weeks from acknowledgment of the request) listed on Northwestern's website. I had to email the admissions office to see what was going on. I was told there were delays in scheduling interviews in my area. Four days after that email, my interviewer contacted me. Two days after that, I received an email from Northwestern alerting me that my interviewer had been assigned and to check the school's portal. After emailing my interviewer, it took about a week to decide on a date. All together, it took about 1.5 months from my date of submission to do the interview.Elle002 wrote:So, I submitted my request for an off-campus interview on 12/1 -- the last day possible, so definitely not ideal on my part. I would email the admission's office to let them know just in case there is something going on behind the scenes that you don't know about.
