everyone's read dates are all so staggered and overlapping... double first and second reads on all sorts of dates... I wonder what their process is? It seems like it's either very complicated at USC or like there are many different "piles" or different readers or something.

Right? I'd love to walk through their admissions office.

Samesies. Not knowing makes planning for the future so frustrating.

I mean, the theoretical finalist interviews would be very soon...but reading some TLS threads, I anyway get the impression that there are a bunch of high-number candidates that didn't even make the finalist cuts...I think they probably invited a bunch of people to apply for a very limited number of cuts in the next round.

Wait, sorry. Haven't been following this thread very closely. Have people heard about Rothman finalist selections this year? Cause I haven't heard anything since January

In the next week or two they should announce finalists for the interviews.

Yeah, probably. Try not to worry about it though! How long have you been complete? USC just seems to be really slow, so I don't think you've been forgotten or are being ignored or anything.

This may shed light on how some people are read before others... But I don't know how relevant it is...
Numerical indicators (UGPA and LSAT) are important in our process and are initially used to help us “sort” files for review. But as I tell candidates, we need more than what I would affectionately call “brains and geeks” in the class. Candidates come in all different sizes, shapes, colors, and with different opinions, attitudes, experiences and accomplishments. We strive to have all of that reflected in the class, and that requires us to drill down into candidates’ files.

Well, that's slightly depressing.

Not as long as some folks. 1/9. I know, I'm a big baby.
I am still complete at 1/5 I am feeling the pain here but I also just am taking solace in the fact that I will hear from most places (good or bad) by April. While I would love to go to USC, I am a super reach to begin with.

Also, this may be a completely silly question, but does anyone have any ideas as to why they would wait so long to make decisions? I still remain open to the fact that I could hear back in the next few weeks, but I have a few schools I'm considering which have deposits due in like 3 weeks and I don't know what I'll do if I don't hear from SC before then. It's such an unnecessary shitty situation that I'm sure others are in.
