I'm not sure if it's significant or not, but when I was accepted on Friday, I was also asked to pay the seat deposit which was due by 5:00pm on June 29th. I'm thinking that might have been the reason for the activity.dman12 wrote:It's a lil after 12. Let's see who gets called today off the waitlist.

Hey daveaa -
I'm a little confused by what you're alluding to in your post...

On Friday, when I heard that I was being taken off the wait list, I also received an email informing me that the seat deposit was due that very same day by 5:00pm. So my very unofficial opinion is that they were probably trying to fill a seat or two before that deadline.
Not URM unless demographics have drastically changed since I last checked.

Send them all the news about Rutgers-Camden lately and they'll be on board with Maryland. RC has less than 100 seat deposits down for next year apparently after the whole renaming/combining controversy. With that few seat deposits, you gotta be worried about the future of that institution.ford2city wrote:I'm in with a $20,000 a year scholarship provided I remain in good academic standing. I was wondering if anyone else would share the amount of their scholarships for comparison. I had a 3.2 GPA and 164 LSAT. I'm still trying to convince my parents to put up the money for the seat deposit, they really want me to accept a full ride to Rutgers-Camden.

Were you accepted off the wait list or from the start? I'm wondering if I'll hear anything about free money from them at all.ford2city wrote:I'm in with a $20,000 a year scholarship provided I remain in good academic standing. I was offered a $15,000/year scholarship with a 2.9 GPA and 164 LSAT, in-state. I withdrew, however.ford2city wrote:I'm in with a $20,000 a year scholarship provided I remain in good academic standing. If your two options are R-C and UM, the choice is absolutely simple. Rutgers is going down the tubes fast. Go with Maryland. Do a quick search for ¨rutgers¨ on this website and show your parents how the school is so desperate for students that they are accepting people who haven't even applied.

Nope... Have not heard anything lately. Fortunately, I am in a position where I can wait until even after the school year starts.
I'll probably hit them up again on Monday just to touch base.

Still keeping my fingers crossed. I have the option too of waiting up until the 1st day of classes...really interested in their environmental program. I'm gonna call Monday and see if there are any updates.

Hey,
any admitted students on here heard anything about housing? I heard there is a waitlist for campus housing, not sure how likely they are to accept ppl off the waitlist. I'm coming from out of sate so I'm a little apprehensive about finding off campus housing in Baltimore.

Re: Maryland Applicants c/o 2015
UPDATE: As I mentioned I withdrew two days ago. Today UMD called me up and offered an additional 18k a year, which means the school would be completely free. I have until Wednesday.
I am a GIB fella, so I get $17,500 a year for any school. Florida is my other choice, but now I am not sure if it is worth going to Florida and pay 19k a year (until I establish residency). Technically, I don't even need residency in Maryland now.
Thoughts???
Oh yeah, I am interested in tax law. That is why I am interested in UF.
