Fordham tops out at 25k, unless you get a rare full ride. I doubt you will get them to up it, but you should definitely try it.

Assuming Emory is a peer institution and they offered 60K is there really no chance of getting a similar offer from Fordham?

The prior person was referring to 20k/yr. With 60k total from Emory (20k/year), it may assist you in getting some money if you have none, but it likely won't BOOST your scholarship too much (I've mainly seen them give 5k/yr raises).

Either be from South Dakota (and be planning to practice there) or be a URM with redonk numbers, as I understand it.

I got a response back for my merit aid request, doesnt look good! not sure even how to respond back. If you want to see what dean brown said/help me respond PM Me. It was a long email and seemed unique so I dont want to put myself on blast.

But just as an fyi and a little teaser, "As to merit aid, congratulations on your offer from Washington and Lee. I expect you are one of their top admitted students. Our merit is awarded on the basis of LSATs and GPA and we target the admitted students with LSATs and GPAs in the very top of our class. We also only have 2 full tuition scholarships!"

THIS. I knew there weren't many, though I didn't know there were only two.

If you want to PM me the email I will look it over as soon as I finish this paper that's due in 2.5 hours. Clearly I'm prioritizing well right now.

BU is an EXCELLENT school to use to negotiate with Fordham. However, remember that Fordham tops out at 25k/yr on scholarships.

bah that's really disappointing. It would take a hefty chunk of change to get me to matriculate at Fordham. My mom is an alum (she helped found the latino student association).. so I always kinda assumed that Fordham would be generous with the dough. Too bad!

I don't know how it is at BU, but remember that when Fordham gives you a scholarship, it's guaranteed for three years. No grade/rank stipulation. People forget how important that is.

Scholly's at BU are the same. Kinda sad to hear that Fordham taps out at 25k. I was hoping for more to cover the higher COA.

In!!

Does anyone know if there is a sense of community at all at Fordham? I used to go to NYU and transferred because there was no community whatsoever and I don't want a repeat of that in law school

Congrats to both of you. In regards to the sense of community at Fordham, I would say without a doubt yes. I would suggest going to the ASD and make sure you stick around for the reception at the end to get more of a feel for the students and professors. FWIW, I'm a 0L but have a bunch of 1L and 2L friends at Fordham Law.

first WL! though I'm glad to have heard something from them- I was complete since 1/20-something, and never changed to review, nothing but the WL today
(a bit surprising after getting a really quick acceptance to GW.) I guess I should have written a 'why fordham'...

definitely going to write one now. anyone know if they would grant an interview if we asked?

Just got WL...probably going to withdraw, since Fordham at sticker price is super, super pricey and I already have scholarships from other schools.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
