Re: W&L c/o 2015
Hey folks,
I've been reading through this thread and I'm really liking what I've been hearing about W & L and I think I'd like to go there if I am admitted. My question is, in the application, I didn't write any additional essays beyond the PS because I was really rushed for time and I was applying near the deadline. Do you think that will have an impact on my application, or should I try and do something to aid my chances.
My GPA was 3.93 LSAT 162 and I'm a veteran. Beyond that nothing stands out in my application that I know of.
Cheers

I got in with a 159, 3.66 GPA, but I did apply a bit earlier. Hopefully you choose to write the Optional essay about honor because it's a BIG DEAL at W&L I MEAN HUGE.
If you did I wouldn't be surprised for you to hear good news, if not, and you really want to go here, Id wait a year and reapply maybe even try to raise your LSAT score IF you are not comfortable.
I didn't see your application, but this is my 2 cents: ALWAYS give them what they ask for, leaving parts blank because they're optional can easily be taken as lazy.

Yeah I was worried it might look lazy. Any idea if that is something I can submit after the fact?

@Ogresmash - I think you're fine with those numbers. I'm 3.4/169, applied mid-feb, and just got in with scholarship. Thank you for your service and I hope you hear good news soon!

@Ogresmash I agree with justitiasuperomnia. I didn't do optional things for any of my schools (well it's because I really am lazy) and I've had a pretty decent cycle so far. 167/3.6 applied mid-late Jan, in with scholarship. I'm sure you could send Brett something, though!

The Ethical Dilemma essay is a great one and I'm sure you could tie in your military experience as that's certainly something most people don't enter into lightly.

Thanks folks, I probably will be ok without it but I think I'll send it in on Monday anyway because it might give me that extra boost toward getting some scholarship money.

Thanks for the form...what I meant by rules are I know some schools require to either fly in by a certain day or leave by a certain day to get reimbursed I didn't know if w&l did the same??aeiouy wrote:Rules? http://law.wlu.edu/deptimages/admission ... 20Form.pdfmcdeeremitch wrote:Does anybody know the rules about travel reimbursements

Oh, I'm not sure. I didn't think about that because I'm leaving on Friday and coming back on Sunday. If your dates fall out of range, I would try contacting Brett. He's really nice and responds quickly; it might even be faster if you post on the Facebook group?mcdeeremitch wrote:Thanks for the form...what I meant by rules are I know some schools require to either fly in by a certain day or leave by a certain day to get reimbursed I didn't know if w&l did the same??aeiouy wrote:Rules? http://law.wlu.edu/deptimages/admission ... 20Form.pdfmcdeeremitch wrote:Does anybody know the rules about travel reimbursements

Still, it's such a great conversation piece - "Oh yeah, I'll probably be attending a top 25 school. No big deal, really..."

Although for job prospect purposes it doesn't matter all that much. I'm pumped that W&L shot up. T25 anyone?
