Most of us found out a long time later via email, but this is because they waited until mid-March to send anything. Others find out via Agora Portal - you'll get your login when your information is ready there.

Had you received an e-mail about this scholarship, or did this come as a surprise? I haven't been offered a scholarship but am now curious about the mysteries within Agora.fishy wrote:I was finally able to access my fin aid package this morning. Got a 15k per year "law school scholarship" so it looks like I'll be at BC in the fall.
I still can't access a fin aid letter (but all my docs were in last month). I figure I'll give it until the end of the week before banging down their door.

It was a surprise when I was able to access my package on Agora. I admitted last month, but I sent an email last week telling them about a change of address (and how I'm looking forward to visiting) so I'm thinking that might have gotten the ball rolling on my financial aid package. Who knows how this process works though.zor wrote:Had you received an e-mail about this scholarship, or did this come as a surprise? Regarding financial aid, two questions:
On the Agora portal: My Services: Financial Aid: Financial Aid Award Notification I have the following -- "You currently do not have an award notification to view. Please check your financial aid application status at http://www.bc.edu/finaidapp to determine if any application requirements are still outstanding." If I am NOT receiving any merit-based awards, will this notification change? Does anyone's read something like "You are not receiving financial aid"? I can't tell if I am being told 'hold on, there's still hope' or 'sorry, too bad.'
Also, is it necessary to submit ANY of the financial aid documents (need access, free app for fsa, 1040 or w-2) in order to qualify for merit-based financial aid awards?
Thanks and congrats to all admitted and those receiving aid!

Just got waitlisted :/ Why do schools spend twelve weeks reviewing your application just to waitlist you?

1) mine said no awards until about an hour ago. so just keep checking.
2) it says on the website that nothing is required as far as w2 etc goes right now. they will let you know if/when it becomes necessary

I've been checking agora frequently but I finally got a scholarship email. $35,000/ year. Same number from WashU and BU, although BU upped theirs to $37,000.

To BBL and the rest of you who have successfully negotiated: have you had luck negotiating between BU and BC if they offered you the same amount? They both gave me the same amount of money, so there's no obvious leverage, and my only other offers are from much lower ranked schools. (PM if you'd like.)

The scholarship e-mail states the amount of the award. I got an e-mail early last week about how to set up my agora account and received the scholarship e-mail today.Geneva wrote:does the scholarship email state the amount of aid awarded or does that show up on agora? i got an email today telling me how i could set up my agora account (i think).

Is there any relationship between when you've been accepted and when you receive a scholarship offer? I was accepted 2/27, so I'm curious if anyone who got in around then or after has received a scholly.
Basically I'm trying to figure out the point at which I should send BC my other offers and try to negotiate. I don't want to do that if there's a chance I'll still get something from BC, but I also don't want to let it get too close to the deposit deadline...
Advice?

Does BC have a strict deadline by which they reply to all applicants? UR for 2nd time 3/27. How much longer should I expect to wait?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
