Just got my scholarship info: Full-ride (40k per year) with 3.25 stipulation
3.38, 161/170, URM

My law school decision process is going to be very interesting...

Their scholarship process has been such a crapshoot... I feel like my numbers are so similar to yours and I got 1/4 of that. I can't imagine that 3 LSAT points are worth $30K/year when I'm at their 75th to begin with (also a URM).

Thought I'd share that I was able to negotiate more money because of my GPA increase from my fall semester.

How much was the increase if you don't mind me asking?

I doubt my 0.03 increase is going to do much, but coupled with my offer from U of Alabama and the fact that it was my highest semester GPA ever (and I made deans list) I wonder if it's worth trying...

I'm not sure. I was told I would receive the new offer in the mail in a few days. I was originally awarded $10k/year. My fall grades bring my GPA over the 3.5 hump, which I suspect is what they require for $20k+/year non-URM based on LSN. Good luck!

Sorry, that was unclear. I actually meant how much was your GPA increase.

My teeny increase brought me over the 3.4 hump and I am a URM, so I wonder if that'll matter.

We see that W&L may not play strictly by the numbers and for scholly $'s that is particularly true. I have some pretty good softs. Nothing earth-shattering, but they explain my gpa. Also, I finished undergrad in 3 yrs and I have my MBA... softs could have pushed me over the top in their eyes.

Where else have you gotten in? (PM me if you want)

No, I got that letter as well and a scholarship letter a week or so later. That's just an extra letter they send.

Just withdrew from the waitlist! Decided it didn't make sense to keep waiting around without even the tiny chance of getting money!

Good luck everyone!

They worded it very carefully just in case they don't though....very interesting. I think it would be a good thing for those waiting.

Just had my phone interview with Brent Twitty - it couldn't have gone better! I could tell that they really do read your application, and he was very warm on the phone. I also got a lot of info about their clinics and what it's like to live in Lexington.

Even if I don't get off the waitlist, it was nice that they took time out for me :)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
