Dude, ditto. Though I have a feeling that this sort of request might get us placed in the early section just for asking. After all, as lawyers I doubt our schedules are going to be so cushy. (Unless you've got something in mind...)
Just so happen I do have a tiny one to care for in the am. My wife takes our daughter to school while I stay with the little one. I leave for work when she gets back.
I am going to be a consultant
I can make 9am. 8 is too much.
Argh, an acceptable reason after all. I'm the lazy one

Congrats! Do you have amazing softs? I ask because, if your answer is no, you will have eased my own concerns about my lackluster GPA

"What time zone is Ann Arbor in?
We are at the western edge of the Eastern time zone, so we have the same time as our friends on the East Coast, but it is light for about an hour later in the evening. "
Haha, I wonder if they know how big a selling point the extra hour of daylight in the evening is. As someone who loves daylight but hates waking up early, I'm going to take this into serious consideration

An extra hour of daylight in the evening translate into an extra hour of darkness in the morning. You actually will feel like you are getting earlier (it stays dark later), which does not work very well for me as a non-morning person.
I'm rarely awake in time for this to matter in any case. Though, I guess that could change in law school...
I def notice a difference but I'm lucky enough to be in a section that has class start at 10:40 twice a week and 9:05 the other three days so its not too bad. Another section has 8 a.m. class 4 times a week though.
That's my section. It blows though JJ is entertaining at least. I definitely notice a difference, especially before the recent daylight savings time change. It'd still be pitch black when I got to school.

I have no idea, I know people have requested sections for child care purposes but that's about as far as my knowledge about section requesting goes.
Were they granted? I never thought about section assignments before.
I know of one that was, generally if there is a good reason I'm sure Dean Z will be accommodating but she won't accommodate individual's sleep schedules since she tries her best to make diverse sections of people that she feels will mesh well together.
Dean Z doesn't do it. You have to contact Dean Baum. He's a nice guy and for child care he may grant it...for not wanting to wake up by 8 AM probably not.
Edit: Also, it's a trade-off. EFGH gets 8AMs...but also JJ White (the cause of the 8 AMs) and Primus.

That's shocking? Prior to DST ending...at 7:30 AM?

Well, I guess I didn't realize you were arriving as early as 7:30. But even still, I'm in NY and before DST ended, 7:30 here was at least half-way to full daylight. I've never seen pitch black at 7:30 anywhere, I think (I've never lived farther north than this).

If you applied to UMich for undergrad you don't have to wait for the status checker email. Just use the UMID they gave you when you applied for undergrad and you can log into the status checker.

It has more to do with East/West than North. We are pretty much as far West as you can go in EST.

Heh I remember when 8 ams would've pissed me off so much.. but after 2 years of arriving at work at 6 am to deal with screaming 12 year olds all day.. showing up at 8 AM to be a student sounds like an absolute dream

Desperation hope more than anything. Someone upthread also claimed they'd be coming today, but didn't source it. I can still hope?

I was told over the phone today that they're only sent out on Wednesdays. The woman didn't know what time they go out, but the admissions office closes at 5 PM, so presumably before then.

Really? I still have my id from last year, and it is still stuck on "decision" so I guess I am not getting a checker today...

So my status checker updated today and it still says complete... However I am on the admitted students site since yesterday... Would this mean I am in for sure or what?

It can also mean you're rejected.

How are people getting into the Berkeley Admitted Students site? I have gotten onto other AS sites, but Berkeley's seems to require a different ID number?
Wow... strike that. I am getting so manic about Berkeley that I forgot I was reading the Michigan thread.

Ugh. It's going on 4 weeks for me. I thought Cornell was painfully slow... but this is pushing it. (Unless I'm accepted, in which case the wait was totally worth it and Go Blue.)
