But I got in via email...which is strange, I don't recall anyone else getting an email notification in this thread. It says an acceptance envelope is coming the the mail visa USPS.
Congrats! Maybe since it's getting close to seat deposit days, they want to be extra sure everyone knows in time?
Thanks! And who knows

Yeah I would be very interested to know as well. I am getting really nervous since my numbers are relatively low (3.6 and 158). I am applying from in-state though so I'm hoping that will help a little bit. I'm also hoping there will be any amount of money left...

I won't say you'll get dinged but $ is probably unlikely unless you're a URM

I feel like IU is trying to pass up Notre Dame and be #1 in their state.

Thanks! 167/3.3, I'm an URM, three years out from HYPS with good work experience. Received full scholarship through the Maurer scholarship fund. My cycle is on LSN here:

I'm sure they would like to, but the LSAT/GPA/Acceptance rate (i.e., selectivity components), which is clearly what they're making a strong push on counts as a quarter of the ranking score. While it will help the school climb in rankings, improving these stats at the margins probably won't make a HUGE difference, since the plurality of the ranking is drawn from peer assessments (academic faculty from other law schools) and practitioner assessments (judges and lawyers). I think Notre Dame will continue to have an edge. The Notre Dame network strikes me as a bit more intrinsically national than IUB. That being said, I would be happy to see it happen.

I also think that moving up the rankings...even if they move above ND won't help them. I went to ND undergrad and a lot of people pick ND for its traditions, strong Catholic appeal, and its notoriety nationally. That said, the two law schools are extremely different and thus would attract different kinds of people regardless of their stats.

I also thinking it's interesting/weird that only 35% of IUB is comprised of women. Shouldn't they be pushing to up those numbers too? Or at least I hope so!

I think this was discussed in a similar thread (IU students taking questions) or whatever the exact title is. If I remember correctly, that was somewhat accidental and they are trying to correct it.

LOL, nice! I was typing the same thing, but your simile was much better than mine. I'll take the grad music students any day of the week. I think LWoods said the two buildings were close.

Yes, the music school is very close, and the department is very large and majority female. You'll run into music students more often than any other group. (The business and public policy schools are on the opposite end of campus).

You're talking about a bunch of nerdy law students, dear.

It's not an Indiana problem.

+1. The traits that make a good lawyer are not the traits that make a good partner.
