So calling the deans of the top 8 law schools and asking them to help me reverse engineer your application was an overreaction by me?Hildegard15 wrote:To be precise, Spivey, I was referring to your post about the LSAT curve "not looking good" and then the October LSAT curve ending up being a -12, which is much better than what the June 2015 test takers had, which was a -10. Not to any later post where you may have stated the exact curve.MikeSpivey wrote:I misinterpreted "fuck Spivey" and "Spivey is full of shit for telling us the precise LSAT curve" as a blow up.benwyatt wrote:Spivey, I think Hilde was just giving a Han Solo-esque "Never tell me the odds!" kind of statement.MikeSpivey wrote:All I am doing in sharing data. We all very much appreciate the information you share here, and if you really want to peace out because of just one person, well, that's on you. And, again to be precise, I said "Fuck what Spivey is saying", not "Fuck Spivey" personally. As Ben correctly ascertained, I am choosing not to listen to the odds because it implies bad things for my cycle, and that will make me sad.

I appreciate the data you share, I know it has helped me personally with plans and what not. It does seem that some schools are moving ahead with similar to last years acceptances so far and I hope that continues. I guess the increase in test takers could affect decisions from schools that don't start admitting until December or January though?MikeSpivey wrote:

Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
I don't things will be that much more difficult. I actually wrote a blog on this early early this morning which I have not posted yet. I think it is going to sloooooooow down as schools try to come to grips with new data and wait for said Dec. data dump. So I think decisions will be slower to come by. We will know more about the schools that admit a majorty of their applicants in Dec and onward once we see the LSAT bandwidths.Generally wrote:I appreciate the data you share, I know it has helped me personally with plans and what not. I am just messing with you (!!) I would never. I love all TLS'ers, even the ones who besmirch me. You could insult my parents and I wouldn't (just lay off my dog).Hildegard15 wrote:Clearly what I said originally hurt your feelings, and for that I am sorry. It was meant in a humorous way, and my fellow compendium members recognized that. However, it is your choice to use the power you have in whatever way you want, so I respect your right to act in whatever way you see fit. Regardless of your feelings of me, I would ask that you don't withhold your invaluable access to information from my fellow Compendium friends. They are all lovely people, as I'm sure you can see.MikeSpivey wrote:

I had some drama in my morning -- I got to talk to a good friend of mine bright and early at 6am my time who is the dean of admission at a top 10 school. Said friend mentioned something about retaking and application timing and was told "Spivey said you are full of shit on that" so I thought I would pass the drama back on to you all
I hope everyone enjoyed the distraction. Was fun even though I kinda feel mean now. I will have a blog up on what all of this increase *likely* means by tomorrow!

I think the important take-away is that if Spivey wanted to, he could end our legal careers before they even start.
