I'm on the Waitlist and I'm really trying to finagle a visit to campus before the first seat deposit is due... does anyone know how hard/expensive it is to catch a bus from Bloomington to UIUC (or maybe from other major airports in the area)? The plane fares I'm looking at from San Diego to Champaign are killing me, especially considering there's a good chance I won't even get in.

Not sure about a bus, but the Amtrak from Chicago to Champaign runs like 3 or 4 times a day and is about $13 (or more, depending on the time of day, etc).

I gotta be honest. I am an Iowa resident and was only looking to apply to Iowa for schools in midwest region. But the dean and everyone applying/applied to UIUC seems "happier" than usual.

This thread has made me to apply to UIUC even though it's crazy late into the cycle. But I can't help it, i guess.

In but with about 10,000 a year ... I need some serious dough because I have a bad bad feeling that I'm getting no money from my top choice, and there is no way my folks (or I) can take out loans given the state of the economy.

Dean Pless, thank you so much for the offer of admission. Are the scholarships based on LSAT/GPA? I have a LOT of extra-curriculars and a 3.96, but I'm guessing my lower LSAT killed my chances at some serious $$$. Am I right?

Obviously I am not going to discuss individual scholarship questions on a message board. Email me and we can talk about it.

This is probably not how you want to go about convincing another school to raise their scholarship offer.

Hey guys I was admitted on Feb. 11th. Who in here is going to the March 5th ASD? I've signed up for that one but I may have to switch to the April 9th one depending on my work schedule next week.

Also any suggestions for those from Champaign on what to do there? I plan on staying Friday and Saturday.

Hey guys. I would take the debt if I could. My family drowning in medical bills and I need to try and minimize my loans so I can help them out ASAP. I had to make that choice for undergrad too, so I went to a school where I got a full ride versus a school that was considered really good.

Sorry for being so brash about the $cholarship issue earlier. I apologize for being a bit too vocal ...

If you plan on getting waitlisted, that's exactly what you'll get. Plan on getting accepted.

My decision is coming this week too! I hope we both get accepted!

The next batch of files will go into review today and include everyone that is complete up to February 6. These decisions will come out on February 26.

Good luck!
Regardless of the outcome, it will be such a relief to have an answer on Friday! I wish all the schools could give a timeline like this...
