Fuck Cal. Go Cardinal. That name conjures up too many negative associations for me. I'd have to call it "Berkeley" or "Boalt." Those, for whatever reason, are more neutral.VoidSix wrote:I would much rather spend three years in Berkeley. I'd also like to stay in the Bay Area someday. So that makes Berkeley attractive. But I wouldn't mind spending some years with the NAACP or ACLU, so that makes NYU look better. I'd probably still go to Cal.

If I'm at/above the GPA and LSAT medians, complete on 11/17, should I be worried if I haven't heard yet? How long until the first batch of rejects arrives?

Could you guys point me to the source where it says scholarship essays can be turned in before Jan 1? Does it apply to all scholarships, or just the Furman?
Thanks in advance!

I called and asked. I just said "scholarship essay," and didn't mention the Furman.musketeerlady wrote:Could you guys point me to the source where it says scholarship essays can be turned in before Jan 1? Does it apply to all scholarships, or just the Furman?

Thanks - I couldn't find the information anywhere on the website, so had a miserable week trying to finish scholarship essays to submit with the application. How odd that they didn't post that information on the website.puppins wrote:I called and asked. I initially asked if I was complete and she said yes. Then asked if a decision had been made and she said no, still w/ committee.gahthelaw wrote:how did you ask? do you have a nice voice or something? im debating calling...maybe i can make up some story about how my mailbox exploded so i just...wanted to check.hopefulundergrad wrote:I caved and called. Re: NYU 2010
Booo, no envelope. I did, however, receive a viewbook and fee waiver from the University of Alabama!!!!
Anyway, I'm glad to see some people in this thread with postmarks on 12/4 instead of 12/1. Also, my 11/25 complete date is later than most. I haven't given up hope yet!

Do we know what time the admissions office closes? And what's the number for those of you who've called?
I'm debating calling if I don't have an envelope in my mail (which should have already come but hasn't).

From the impression this site has given me about the URM boost, I would say you're a mortal lock and should probably have your sights set on HYS.Moba wrote:What do you guys think are my chances?
