Admitted through PT in 12/6, but still have not heard anything from FA/scholarship office yet. Should I be concerned? I was hoping to get a decent scholarship.
State: both > 75%
Have you filled out the scholarship form? They emailed it out a few weeks ago and should start the process, though it's unlikely we'll hear back with scholarship decisions until later in January/February, I think.
Well I guess I should be concerned. Checked my email, spam and trash. Didn't find anywhere any email/form about scholarship. They said they would send it out some time during December, and that's why I have been waiting all this time..... I'm deeply troubled by this....
Just chiming in; I applied to Duke last year and went thru the process. The form should also be on the admitted students site (
https://law.duke.edu/welcome/) under the financial aid tab on the right. Timing-wise you should absolutely be fine. I got in shortly before X-mas last year and did not complete the electronic form until January.
That is very reassuring and helpful! Thank you very much.

I never dream, but I dreamt I met Richard Nixon last night. Maybe it's a sign.

In off the Priority Track via email tonight. Submitted around 12/12 and was told I wouldn't hear back until next year because the office was closed. 75%<LSAT 25%<GPA<50%

Accepted by email at 4:36am this morning. LSAT is a 166 and GPA is a 3.83. Wrote a why Duke. Submitted 11/12, UR1 sometime in early December UR2 on 12/20, Decision made 12/23, email received this morning.
I'm a K-JD with pretty average softs so needless to say I'm super happy I got in, especially this early in the cycle.
They said the office is closed from 12/23 through 1/2 so if you haven't heard by now I wouldn't expect to hear anything. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Hey everyone, quick question about visiting Duke after being admitted. Will they pay for a plane/train ticket and/or hotel room for me? What about for my girlfriend or parents? Can I just email the admissions team and ask, or is that in bad taste? Anyone have any experience with this? I was admitted back in early November through PT, if that matters.
Thanks!!

I have heard that Duke does offer travel stipends for ASW. I'm not sure about for guests or how to go about discussing that. I'm waiting until we're "officially admitted" to see if they say anything about travel. I haven't even gotten anything specifically about the ASW at all. If we don't hear anything or you really want to get out in front of it I would shoot them an email, if you just worded it like you wanted more info I doubt they'd be upset

applied ED right before the break (12/18). kind of a gamble -- lsat ~ 25th, GPA > 75th, pretty interesting softs, "Why Duke", strong letters of rec. don't think i'm going to get in, but thought i'd give it a shot.

Does anyone know what goes on in the scholarship interview / what they ask or want to know about?

Browsed a little in the last couple years. Seems like it is pretty conversational / laid back and will include both "general" interview questions and specific financial questions. Questions I've seen include:
Why Duke?
Why Law?
What are you interests outside of the classrooms
Specific Resume Questions
What do you want to do with a JD/LLM?
Also looks like the Dean will have access to your need application if you did one and will may ask specific questions to elaborate on items in it.
What is your financial situation?
So are they gauging how likely we are to attend?

Any thoughts on when Non-PT applicants will begin hearing back?

neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr haha but forreal usually the first nonPT wave happens in December smh I don't think that was the case this year. I think 3-4 folks ITT were non pt admitted in early december tho but certainly not enough to be considered a wave

Had the same exact stats as you and got in RD non PT if that gives you any hope. Good luck!

I submitted on 11/29, and since 11/30 I've been stuck at complete. No movement/correspondence from adcomm except for the initial status checker email. Anyone else had to wait a super long time just to go from complete to UR1?

I've been under review since 10/7, so it could be worse!

Me too!
