Now that everything is pretty much over, what are your thoughts on Stanford Law?

Umm, it's the best fucking school in the entire goddamned world. I will be there this fall and am personally just grateful that I get to post in the C/O 2019 thread, where we actually have a real OP in fliptrip. Eat caca and die, Dcc617. Your parents hate you.

It's chill bro, but I was already set on Harvard or Yale anyway. I got my shades on to block out all that shade from CA. Enjoy the earthquakes, hippies.

I personally can't stand Stanford, its administration, and especially its admissions office. I waited patiently for 4-7 months only to get waitlisted or rejected less than a week before May. Seriously, go home Stanford, you're drunk (unless you accept me off the waitlist, then I will love you)

Meh, I mean, this was a total long shot for me. I just wanted to see what would happen. This is what I thought would happen.

I'm totally indifferent to Stanford, because I am super happy with the option I am going with. Grow up, Dcc617. You're embarrassing yourself with this poll.

I will be Seymour Asses from Futurama, and Stanford is my Fry. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? I WILL FUCKING DIE ON THE WAITLIST!

I am a lurker. I may not have even applied anywhere this cycle. My motives for lurking this thread are entirely inscrutable and apparently I have nothing better to do with my life.

Dcc617, stop making every other poll option about yourself. While you are very handsome, your constant narcissism and self-indulgence has become off-putting.

Amen. Although, when I start to feel some hope sneaking up on me, it really helps to remind myself that it's far more likely my file simply fell behind their desk and has been lost this whole time...

I wonder why SLS's accepts/denials are sprinkles, as opposed to waves. Because so many other schools implement waves of denials (and, less often, waves of acceptances), there must be a lot of convincing reasons to do it that way. I wonder how Stanford's admissions office's set-up is different in a way that it makes sense for them to deny, like, 7 people per day.

Word. And, at least from my observations from this forum, the "sprinkles" seem really random. People who have been waiting months and months are being denied alongside people who submitted on the last possible day. It makes very little sense to me, and I HATE UNCERTAINTY. SLS is melting my sanity.

I've wondered the same. Waves make more sense to me because admissions offices should have some sense of the number of students they want to accept and waitlist based on previous years' matriculation rates and the current year's application numbers and quality. Unless the process is rather outsourced (like Yale's), it seems more intuitive that a centralized group of admissions officers should release decisions in batches. I guess it's possible that instead of holding applications until one group is ready, they just send them out as they go, but doesn't that risk a higher deviation from the desired acceptance numbers? Not sure either way. Anyway, I'm just hoping to hear back soon so I can start finalizing decisions. :) Hoping the same for the folks here!

Every day I wake up and hope that today will be it, that I'll have an answer. Then I remember... it might not be until April 30th that I hear. APRIL. 30TH.

Too real. I've been telling myself "the decision will come in the next couple days" since February.

Let's enter the land of speculation, shall we? Do we think SLS admissions office is closed for the holiday or working overtime today?

I actually can't even imagine what is taking so long. Schools are going to require commitments soon. Is Stanford just going to leave most of its applicants waiting forever?

Obviously Stanford is taking off the day before April Fool's Day to prepare for the holiday, as one does. Also Cesar Chavez Day, my bad lol

So, do we have intel on how many ding sprinkles/waves there have been thus far? Also, do we know if they are going through chronologically what complete date they are up to? Time for some serious speculation...

The only thing I'm 100% certain about is that they aren't going chronologically. :(
