If I got into Columbia but didn't interview, does that mean I'm definitely not getting any merit aid? Any idea when those decisions could be released? Do they match ever?

Do you guys think that writing a "Why Columbia" now and sending it as an update to my application would improve my chances of not being YP'd?
>75 LSAT & GPA
or would it reflect poorly on me because I didn't submit it with my original application?

It may depend on when you submitted your original application. If you submitted just recently, it could be that you wanted to get the required parts of your applications in first, and submit the supplemental later. If you submitted months ago, I would question why it took you so long to write an additional essay if Columbia was really your 1st choice; it's kind of obvious that the purpose of sending this essay is to prevent YP.

But if you have a really convincing Why Columbia, send it in anyway.

Would have for sure done a Why X if I had thought YP was a real possibility. Columbia really is a dream for me. Hopefully my interview showed that.

Why Columbia? Oh, I don't remember there is an optional essay specifying "Why Columbia". I just integrated it into the Personal Statement. Maybe Columbia PS stipulates "double-spaced two pages"? Sounds like so many things slipped my mind, which demonstrates I care too little about Columbia.

How did you get to know this? The decisions are rendered via snail mail, aren't they?

Quick question: is it a definite fact that Butler and Hamilton recipients will be notified upon acceptance? I'm definitely within range and wasn't notified of anything, so I was wondering if I should just temper my optimism now.

It seems that with Columbia, nothing is a definite fact. Last cycle, all recipients were notified upon acceptance, but who knows what they're doing this year. I'd still like to think that they're coming later but that is probably just false optimism.

No one has gotten one this cycle yet (or reported it here at least) so no one's really sure if they're putting Butlers and Hamiltons in the PDF copy of the acceptance letter or just in the physical copy that gets mailed out to you.

They have put information about other fellowships in the acceptance PDFs this cycle so far given some acceptances that happened this week but it's not clear if the Hamilton and Butler are gonna be any different.

At the bottom of my admit letter, it says that I'm encouraged to schedule an individual appointment with one of a few members of the admissions team to learn more about CLS. Has anyone else done this? How would I go about doing this?

In with no interview. I'm having a nice cycle and this is the one I'm most excited about so far. One of my top choices for sure.

Whoa! Congrats! That's awesome. Was there any warning ahead of time? Did they mention you were under consideration in your admit letter?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
