mine was ~4 days from complete to admit. it has completely spoiled me for all my other applications!lawschool1741 wrote:Honestly, I don't understand how other schools don't. Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Question for PT folks:
I saw in the 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' thread:
Duke PT
Incomplete
Complete (like, a day)
UR
UR 2: a few days before DLS
Decision Letter Sent; Watch for Email
Did everyone hit that UR2 date, or does it vary?

I mean, the entire turnaround from complete to DLS is 10 days, so I would say it is very likely that UR 2 indeed happens a few days before DLS. And I think almost everyone has an UR2. In my case, I went complete on 1/5, the status changed to UR on 1/6, and the status date changed (a.k.a. UR2) on 1/11, and am waiting to hear back the decision. I will either hear later today (1/14, Day 9 after completion) or tomorrow (Day 10).secadc11 wrote:Question for PT folks:

Reason being? I'm not sure of your specific situation, but in general I feel like there's no benefit to withdrawing so early. Worst case, they reject you - which is the same outcome as withdrawing. Best case, you get accepted with $$ (and even if you don't want to go to Duke can use it to negotiate) or at least fully evaluate your options.Preposterous wrote:Strongly considering withdrawing from Duke.

Already admitted. Got enough offers at this point that negotiation won't be a problem. I also forgot to include a minor C&F issue in my Duke app.pylon wrote:Reason being? Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Fair enough - good luck! This post reminds me I need to do more research and reading on scholarship negotiation later on in the cycle, as my intuition would have been that the more offers to show a school the better. I just have no idea if that's true or not.Preposterous wrote:Already admitted. Got enough offers at this point that negotiation won't be a problem. As a regular Duke applicant this PT stuff is really frustrating, particularly because the invitations seem somewhat random.

I'm sure it also depends on where they are at in the cycle/how many PT applicants they can commit to at a given time/etc.
I know mine is very likely tied to LSAT as I received it shortly after Dec scores were released.

Lions, do you have a source for that? They seem really random to me. I entered the cycle with an LSAT at their 25th and GPA above their 75th - no PT, which is understandable. Got well above Duke's 75th from the September test. Never received a PT.rebexness wrote:Not completely.Lions1913 wrote:They aren't random. Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
I got a PT invite with a 168 before I retook to a highe score.tincan678 wrote:The cutoff for PT this year seems to be 169, which was 96th percentile in the October 2014 LSAT. My 168, which was 96th percentile in the June 2014 LSAT, did not make the cut. So yes, the vast difference between priority track and regular track is decidedly unfair.Lions1913 wrote:They aren't random.
