Dean Ingram just posted to the admitted students Facebook page that FAFSA grant information will come out "mid to late March."BigZuck wrote:Can't remember, April maybe? My year I think every instate student got a 3K grant
I wouldn't bait your breath too much, unless something has changed, whatever they offer shouldn't move the needle at all
(don't get me wrong, free money is free money and I was appreciative of receiving it but it didn't impact my decision)

Anyone have any insight into how deep into the waitlist UT typically goes for out of state residents? Waitlisted two weeks back. Fingers crossed

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
I am OOS and was offered a Chancellor's scholarship (full tuition), I think a couple weeks after being accepted. They also took longer than almost any other school to review my application for whatever that's worth.Lawgirl101 wrote:Who have y'all been contacting to negotiate offers?
Also, has anyone OOS been offered anything?

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
Totally anecdotal, but I submitted my Why Texas? on the final listed due date and was accepted that same day via phone call. I assume that means that it's pretty much a necessity for OOS applicants and acts as a sort of interest gauge. YMMV.brightthru2014 wrote:What's the general consensus as to the significance of the Why Texas additional response? If I get the email, what does this say about my admission chances? How long generally before I get an answer?
It's been two weeks and radio silence thus far.

Has anyone actually been able to register for one of the ASDs on Freshlaw? The website says registration will be available Friday, March 2nd (today is March 2nd, but it's not a Friday). Am I missing the link somewhere?

My stats are 3.4 167
Do you think I could get in?
Does Texas offer any fee waivers?

Knowing nothing else about you, mylsn shows a 40% chance (pretty small sample size though) - but you likely won't get any money.adil91 wrote:My stats are 3.4 167

Fee waivers have been offered to in-state applicants; for OOS you could try requesting, but with your stats I wouldn't bank on it (just trying to be realistic).

Just got email that I've been rejected. Stats are 166/3.6. This is really disappointing. Also, I'm OOS and they didn't even ask me for a "Why Texas?"

Hi all! Apologies if this has been answered! Today marks a week since my acceptance call, but I have yet to receive my packet. I was told I should have received it by Monday. Dumb question, but would it hurt to call? Really anxious to see the packet, and begin the scholarship wait haha

Incredibly excited to receive Chancellor's Scholarship offer today covering full tuition! I see on lsn that some people have posted in the 120's and 140's for $$$, I guess there are some scholarships that offer stipends? Is it even worth trying to negotiate above what I've been offered?

Congrats! Don't think there are any scholarships with stipends. The 120k scholarships aren't full scholarships for out of state people, the 140k is probably the Townes Rice.ptz wrote:Incredibly excited to receive Chancellor's Scholarship offer today covering full tuition! Yeah just looked that up, Townes-Rice does. I applied very late though so I imagine all 8 had been offered. I wonder if that's a pretty hard number though, and if they do anything in between.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
