Yeah, there is a separate lottery for HUH. You should get the view/select window assignment tomorrow, May 3rd. The app for HUH was due yesterday.az21833 wrote:for those who didnt get a window, are you just SOL for on campus housing?

Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
I did visit Gropius and North. North has their own bathroom. Hastings & Gropius have bathrooms shared. For Hastings, it seems there are multiple bathrooms separated by entrances into Hastinga. Gropius is one male OR female bathroom per floor.trojandave wrote:Window 6 - I guess that's decent...? Anyway, is there a thread (or a part of a thread) where people got into analyzing gropius vs hastings vs north? Is Gropius the only one where you're stuck sharing a bathroom with an entire hallway? I'll hit up the website now but I'd imagine this was discussed earlier and I probably just ignored it

I picked from the already available... Just a heads up for people going after HUH: you will have to pay first months rent at signing. It's usual when signing on for an apartment, just didn't want anyone to be taken by surprise and think it would get paid at finaid dispersement.
Lease for me was due back in just a week after it was emailed to me and it was emailed to me two days after selection

I've been finding some great stuff on Craigslist that beats the HUH apartments I've seen (and even some of the dorms) for price, if not quality.bob loblaw11 wrote:Damn, missed that. Guess I'll go homeless.

Who has a selection window today? Can someone tell me what rooms are still available at the end of the day?
Having no window sucks, but it gave me the opportunity to look at off campus housin seriously and it's becoming an increasingly attractive option

Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
TLSers,
I have a unit in the HLS 5 Mellen St. apartment (medium single, cost is $13,523 for the academic year) but I'm going to pick my current HUH apartment instead. If someone wants the Mellen St. unit, PM me and we'll figure out a way to get it to you.
EDIT: Note that your roommates will probably be 2/3Ls but... outlines...?

I've got an HLS apartment up for grabs as well as I will also be going the HUH route. It's one of the two large studios in 1637 Mass. Ave. $1930/month, furnished, all utilities included, academic year lease. If you already have a room assignment thru HLS, we can just swap and I'll cancel my contract. PM if you want it.

MINI FRIDGE FOR SALE
Hey, I'm a current 1L at Harvard and would love to sell my perfect condition mini fridge to an incoming 1L for less than you'd have to pay for a new one. Super helpful if you're living in any of the dorms, which was a really fun experience.

Anyone moving cross-country with furniture? What's your idea for cost-savings?

Re: In at Harvard: Class of 2016
Selling it and buying new stuff is gonna be cheaper than moving it all. My SO's dad is in shipping, and he's moving our important stuff, but the furniture's all gonna be gone.Searchparty wrote:Anyone moving cross-country with furniture? What's your idea for cost-savings?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
