Just an FYI: UVA emailed me first saying to call their office. Assuming you're as neurotic as I am, you might be better off refreshing your email all day instead of waiting for your phone to ring. Not sure if everyone else's phone calls were similar, though.

From what I've seen, the email-phone call just means they might still be feeling things out or are just too swamped to make the acceptance phone call during a respectable time of day (esp. so if you're in a different time zone). FWIW I got the phone call out of the blue in an elevator with no email (I did get a follow up email shortly after).

Edit: Just checked the admission letter and the open house day is on Friday, March 22. I still think I remember her mentioning something about the first week of march.

just got an email to call admissions but due to time zone (i live in japan) i've already drank a bottle of wine. i would have to wait about 22 hours before it would be feasible to call totally sober. should i just call, did anybody have any curveballs on the call?

the admissions was kind enough to realize that i was in japan and offered a follow up email (without my having to email back) saying congratulations and that i should call whenever i can. yay!

I'm a little irked that UVA's first seat deposit is due so early. I'm hoping to also visit Berk during their weekend so that I can take advantage of the travel stipend, but it's after UVA's first deposit deadline :/

I was hoping to avoid multiple seat deposits but it looks like I may not be able to avoid it if my cycle doesn't wrap up by April.

Got the "get to know you better" email. Scheduled for 9:30 AM with Jason. Sincerely feel that mine is just going to be a "get to know you." Will be very surprised with my numbers to get anything else. (4.0, 164, resident.) But here's for hoping for the best anyway.
