You know... An accent from behind the Iron Curtaincerealdan wrote:hypothalamus wrote: a Cold War accent.

I don't think this information cuts off the possibility of such a trend. The "some" to which you refer could be diverse in other ways.Doorkeeper wrote:
Some people waiting to hear back are from Ivy UGs, so I don't think there's a trend here...
Sorry to break the news, but I think the admissions committee is predominantly, if not all, female...hypothalamus wrote:I just want to put it out there that I can do the splits and speak in a Cold War accent. Just an idea...but those that haven't heard back...is there something in your backgrounds that might make you special? Perhaps they're filing in some last minute "diversity" seats and we're going to get KB1s in a few minutes.
I'm a pretty standard applicant -- the only semi-diverse thing I can think if is my undergrad school. I am certain there is no one else from my school they are considering.
There is a bit of a sub-trend here.izy223 wrote:adam1 wrote:Same actually. They're probably busy googling our UGs.MobyDick wrote:GoodFood wrote:Nov. submit, Jan. hold. Still can't think of a reason why I haven't been waitlisted yet.

Did anyone other than Geneva report getting a KB1 today?sharktankdean wrote:Elendil wrote:Is today really going to pass without a decision? Really?
at this point i dont know if a WL is a good or bad thing at this point...the fact that they are still handing out kb1's is still confusing
No. It seems like the two recent KB1s have been URMs. Probably just squaring URM numbers before having to get into the WL.user_france wrote:Did anyone other than Geneva report getting a KB1 today?sharktankdean wrote:Elendil wrote:Is today really going to pass without a decision? Really?

Seems most people were earlier holds. I haven't even seen any March holds action, though I might be wrong.StrictlyBusiness wrote:Did anyone from the April 4th Hold group see any action today?
I'm not even sure if anyone with a February hold saw any action today...StrictlyBusiness wrote:Did anyone from the April 4th Hold group see any action today?
This is an interesting thought. I was a mid-Nov submit, early Feb hold, and sent a LOCI on 4/3.GoodFood wrote:Did most of you who have yet to hear back send in an LOCI recently? Maybe that pushed our applications to the end of the decision list automatically.
Anyone else want to at least get some entertainment out of this and speculate as to why we haven't heard back yet? I don't feel cool being the only one...
(Also, most of us are early submitters/early holds, they know our application like the back of their hands at this point.)

4/4 hold and sent a LOCI they would have received around 4/12. It sounds like I wouldn't have heard back yet anyway, but that LOCI could have pushed me back a little as well.GoodFood wrote:Did most of you who have yet to hear back send in an LOCI recently?
