Did anyone on the waitlist receive an e-mail asking for you to give them a call so as to discuss the status of your application? Not sure if this is good or bad news.

I am very much real. I only created my account yesterday because that is the day I got taken off the wait list and I wanted to update other wait listed individuals. I know that if I were still wait listed I would want constant updates about the process. In fact, I bet you will easily spot me on campus this fall. I will be one of the few Mexicans there. Lol. But alas, I have nothing to prove to a bunch of strangers on the internet. I genuinely wish you guys all the best of luck!

Don't say this! Less than 24 hours ago people on the ft waitlist were saying what you're saying. They'll probably start on the pt waitlist after they get done with the ft waitlist.

Does anyone know if your online status checker gets updated if you are accepted off of the waitlist?

according to diceman's post from another forum if his gpa/lsat profile is accurate it seems UMD is pulling the High GPA/low LSAT profile right now...that's #3 in the span of two days.

But my stats are: Top 20% GPA with a median LSAT score. Fulltime.

Hmmm. Seems like you plucked all the right strings so it's definitely a little strange that you were waitlisted. Early December was the perfect window for application submission and I have been told by multiple sources that if you hit the median LSAT (161 according to the ABA for full-time applicants) and are within the GPA range then you are basically a shoo-in...unless you wrote about another law school in your personal statement. 162 seems to be the magic number according to LSN, but this is obviously not foolproof. If nothing else, then maybe this cycle was just much more competitive than last.

Yes, deffinitely NOT foolproof. It's all what they are looking for to fill those seats this year. Hopefully my app looks better to them the second time around. We will see.
