SEC Football + Baseball is at least 1/4 of the reason why I want to go to Vandy.

FTFM

Also, their basketball team is pulling itself together, which is nice.

The Vandy basketball team will always just be the butt of tourney jokes. Plus basketball games aren't even as close to as much fun as baseball games or football games.

Oh yeah, SEC basketball is no comparison to SEC football. Vandy has been fairly meh when it comes to football though, so having a ranked basketball team is always nice, even if it loses after the first round. I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about college baseball aside from the fact that the south > everyone else.
As dumb of a factor as it may be, I went to a really small undergrad so a law school at a university with a solid athletic program would be a definite draw for me. You really can't beat the atmosphere of gameday.

Oh well let me explain college baseball. You get drunk, relax out in the sun and cheer when other people do. That's all you really need to know.

I think I'm sold! I will make the trek from Canada, EVERY one i speak to about Vandy tells me I simply must visit. I'm thinking cheap hotel in the area? they do subsidize $50 per night after all.

If you come visit, you can stay with current students. I didn't do it when I visited and totally regret it.

Do you think it would be good? I mean I'm guessing we'll be surrounded by current students the whole day anyhow? Or is this just me being anti-social :p

Vandy hates me. This is not cool, because I don't hate Vandy....quite the opposite, actually.

Current students host the admits Thursday and Friday nights. That means you have someone to pregame/go to bar review with Thursday night. Then Friday your host will bring you to the school at a god-forsaken hour. You'll spend the day with admits and then do blackacre with the current students. Presumably your host will invite you to dinner/the bars Friday night. I also went out with 1Ls Saturday, although I stayed in a hotel that night.

I really liked it because I got a genuine feel for what the student body is like and what it would be like to go to school here. My host and her friends were really forthright about the pros and cons of vandy, and it was nice to hear from people who weren't trying to sell me on the school.

Also, LOL at choosing vandy for its "awesome gameday experience." You're going to be in for quite the surprise.

So if I'm coming down ahead of time to hang with friends, but staying in a hotel... I should bug mags to show me the town? :D

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
