No way it's $1200 for a bedroom. I don't think STL even has places that expensive.hoos89 wrote:Is that 1200 for the whole place or 1200 for one of the three bedrooms?franklyscarlet wrote:If you go to wustl, definitely live off campus-- I lived in a beautiful 3 bedroom duplex in Clayton for 1200 a month, and easy 3 block walk from campus. ETA after reading up thread: Morgan street is PACKED with undergrads. I wouldn't go there as a law student. The CWE is great, soulard is fabulous, and there are some cool dives on the hill.

1200 for the whole place. And the place was BIG, and very nice. If you're looking in Clayton, the high rises are expensive, but the houses/duplexes owned by individual landlords can be very cheap. I always hated the loop apartments, because many of them were pretty run-down. Although, if you're looking to be very close to bars, the loop is the place to be. I lived in the corner by a metro stop, which was fabulously convenient.hoos89 wrote:Is that 1200 for the whole place or 1200 for one of the three bedrooms?franklyscarlet wrote:If you go to wustl, definitely live off campus-- I lived in a beautiful 3 bedroom duplex in Clayton for 1200 a month, and easy 3 block walk from campus. ETA: I can give more specifics by PM if people are interested in that area, and I'm always willing to do a little walk down to my old neighborhood over ASW

I'm seeing TWO bedrooms for under $800 on padmapper.

That's like half the price of a 2 bedroom here!franklyscarlet wrote: STL is cheap, yo.
If you can promise me that all of my expenses will be 50% of their present cost, I'll commit to WUSTL right now.
Okay maybe not until I get rejected from all my other schools.

You're gonna love it. I lived in the Central West End and made it on significantly below $1000/month without even trying. I had friends who lived on even less by commuting via Metrolink from the Illinois side of the river -- though if you're coming to WUSTL from out of state, you definitely want to live in St. Louis if you can.franklyscarlet wrote:Oooooh, boy. I've been sitting at complete since 11/31, with somewhat similar #s to you. I'm assuming it's because we're <168.THATSHOWYOUGETANTS wrote:so, I've been "application complete" since 11/21, and have not had an update since, no UR, no nothing. that's unusual right? should i call and ask what's up?

I want to live close enough to walk to class everyday but not near undergrads. Are these criteria mutually exclusive?

Dude I feel your pain. I went complete twice and then nothing. They should just be straight up and let us know. Kind of sucks because I'd like to go there.ColtsFan88 wrote:Honestly I wish WUSTL would just ding me already. Submitted 10/26, complete 10/28->12/2->1/23.
I have some great material for the ding bar.

If not, I don't think think they know they want to ding you at this point. They don't know who's going to end up enrolling at this point. Maybe maybe a lower percentage of splitters or reverse splitters will enroll for whatever reason and they'll have to let in the other type. I mean, if you're an auto-deny, then yeah, this probably doesn't apply. But if that's the case I assume you wouldn't be so mad that you're not dinged yet.

In response to your question I'm under both medians. Less with GPA than L.S.A.T and I'm also a urm. I've seen people with acceptances with gpas a little higher than mines. I'm not assuming I'm going to get in, but it'd be nice just to know by now.tmon wrote:Are you below both medians?tooswolle wrote:Dude I feel your pain. I went complete twice and then nothing. Yeah, that's totally fair. URM cycles are definitely tougher to predict it seems, and it's still a bit early in the cycle to think that they're just holding you on for no reason. Hang in there.tooswolle wrote:

Yea I keep on forgetting that it's still early. Some safety schools haven't even sent a decision yet while others have. I think the decline in test takers is having a large effect on the applicant pool and which in turn affects a schools ability to predictions their yield. Oh well I'll stay hopeful and maybe down the road I'll join all of you haha. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!tmon wrote:Yeah, that's totally fair.
