It pains me to say this, but if I have to choose between UCLA and USC...well I think you know where this is going.

lol, I think placement for LA is not significantly different between both schools but of course UCLA is easier on the wallet...

Fellow trojan (for life) and a huge laker fan (although I could kill them for losing to the clippers).

I don't know about UCLA being "easier on the wallet" though, it's a $5k/year difference, so pretty much the same in the grand scheme of things. Plus, with USC being insulated from the California budget crisis, you have some kind of security with where tuition will fall for 2L and 3L years. With UCLA, not so much.

I've also received interesting and quite varied feedback with respect to choosing between the two schools. A judge, and Yale graduate, I met with said I should choose USC hands down without even thinking twice about it. On the other hand, the Northwestern alum I interviewed with told me they usually didn't like their USC hires and had much better success with UCLA ones.

How do you guys feel about being USC undergrad and USC for law? That's one of the biggest things holding me back from commiting myself to going to Gould. I want some diversity on my resume, but I could just be looking into too much and it's actually not a big deal at all.

Yes the loss against the Clippers was embarrassing. Also, bolded is the reason why I would take Cornell or G-Town over USC as of right now. Concerning the $$$ issue is that I know for undergraduate that USC is cheaper (tuition is more expensive but they give more aid as a private institution). I, for example went to USC undergrad pretty much for free through university grants. Does this carry on to the law program though?

They usually mail the next day so even CA people likely won't have it in the mail 'til tomorrow..

No, they send a letter snail mail.
I'm assuming the 1/14 people will get it in the mail this week.

okay...UCLA and Berkeley both send out REJECTION emails....not sure if all Cali schools are the same, but does anyone know (with proof) if USC sends out rejection emails....if so, those who are DF 1/14, should technically be accepted (or at least waitlisted)

good question....cause if not, give it a few days...1/4 cali DF's waited at least 2 days to get their mail....factoring sunday and monday there was no USPS, give it another day at least, even if you are in cali

My acceptance came in a thin, standard sized envelope. Admit packet came like two days later.

by the by...I don't know if USC is doing the same thing as last year, but I found out that if your Wl (or were in 2010), it will say so on the status checker, all rejections and acceptances come in an envelope:

does it seem weird to anyone else that they have finalized decisions for applicants below the median before sending out very many acceptances? i mean, they've been sitting on auto-admit apps for months now. why are they waiting?

I don't know but their pattern seems to be different than last year. Maybe they are trying to wait for the auto-admits to withdraw so they can make their yield rate higher?
