I'd call myself a splitter, although maybe I'd technically need a 176+ for that. (I've got a 175.) I'm also from an underpopulated state that in past years hasn't always shown up in H's class profile list, so I'm wondering if that's another reason I'm hanging on with my GPA.of Benito Cereno wrote:am I the last high lsat splitter standing?
anyways. our group mostly consist of people with at least a couple of years out of UG doing interesting private sector, political work, or advanced graduate degrees. many of us have very unusual and compelling life stories and there are also a bunch of URMS and HYP alums. Fun.

yea, I mean its obvious that we avoided the big anonymous waitlist batch and its also obvious that we are all unusual applicants that despite being borderline (two sub-medians or one sub-25th numbers) we all have some very attractive elements to out applications (HYP, graduate research work, very unique life stories, prestigious work experience). I haven't found any bland applying from undergrad applicants left in the pending-hold group. I think its fair to say that we are at least getting one final close review. Good news is that even if we do get waitlisted we at least have some hope of eventually getting in. We aren't just nameless files in the giant waitlist pool.... ok, enough with my self-serving delusions.

agree completely with everything above. Don't know what the end result will be for any of us, but I think this is a good assessment of our situation thus far

I'm inclined to agree with this, which is why I don't think that any of us will actually get outright admitted before the deposit deadline. I think this "final review" process you speak of will carry over into May/June.
Basically, I'm assuming that those applicants who haven't heard "by mid-April" will fall into the "late spring" timeline for a final decision.

3.9 for me, as well. This is beginning to feel a little like 'Lost'. Who are we? Why are we here? Why did Harvard want us to survive this long?

I'm so pissed at stupid duel enrolled classes in HS. Now my GPA is just below median, which basically kills any hope for me of getting admitted. I would give so much for extra 3 or 4 hundredth.

International - I think my GPA is actually above 3.9 but it's too confusing to actually sort out properly. Anyway, consensus still holds. I would sort of think, re: hearing by late spring or not, that we should hear SOMETHING before then, no? Even a waitlist would be preferable. I am thinking of banking everything and refusing to put down a deposit elsewhere. I have resigned myself to taking another year, worst case.somewhatwayward wrote:ala stewie and bertram....."victory will be mine"lta wrote:I am around 3.9 I think. It's complicated though.

I suppose. But to me, the hold email read like a "we reserve the right to keep you hanging into the summer months, hope this is ok with you" disclaimer.
As I've said before, best case scenario is probably a WL before the end of the month followed by an acceptance at some point this spring (or summer).

If Harvard truly averages the LSAT scores, then I'm a 3.82/168 still standing. But the way they are dribbling out the WLs I expect this to change any day now.

Good to know I'm in a group of special people. I, too, have an "unusual" background and I'm hoping that it's interesting enough for HLS. All this waiting is making me an anxious mess.
When do decisions have to wrap up by? By May 1 or end of May? (I need to emotionally prepare...)
I'm assuming they'll all get back to us any second now.
I also hope they don't average scores ,or I am ROYALLY screwed.

just to be clear, a lack of an acceptance or rejection after may 1 = de facto waitlist. being waitlisted means having to wait around for a decision until after deposit deadlines so I don't see why the wouldn't just send a waitlist email once it becomes clear to them that they wouldn't be able to accept someone before may 1st.

I spelled the key word wrong over and over again. Apparently that's how I have been spelling that word all these years? Yikes! I never really thought about the LSAT essay, but I'm pretty sure mine wasn't that hot....more of an afterthought... I walked out of the test thinking I rocked it (the classic - oh, I scored 174-178 on practice tests, so I'll do fine)... only to see my 170 in an email after I landed in Rome, what a great way to start a vacationr6_philly wrote:I spelled the key word wrong over and over again. His cycle is pretty disappointing considering his numbers. He should have had a Hamilton at Columbia and admittance to Harvard. Maybe his PS or LORs sucked.legalnoeagle wrote:Seriously.
