In NYC, I'm really not that against dollar slice. It serves its function.

Motorino makes amazing pizza.
Keste is pretty good too.
IIRC, the pizza in Eataly is actually pretty good too.

The three above are more 'neopolitan' or teetering on knife and fork pizza but not quite.

OK but get some fresh quality sliced bread, spread a little pesto on it, add a slice of fresh mozzarella. Top with basil or sun-dried tomatoes, if desired.

Since we're talking about pizza, when I was up in Denali, I ordered a king crab pizza that had crab baked under the cheese and a whole crab standing upright on top of the pizza that you could crack open and spread the meat on the pizza and it was delicious and I ate the whole thing and I have no shame. The end.

Mozzarella has a definite taste. It is salty a tiny bit sour and very creamy.
