I was accepted off the waitlist last year during the last week of April. There's still hope for everyone that was waitlisted today.Katherine wrote:Waitlisted today.
162/3.4
Any idea if and when a lot of people get in off the waitlist?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Scholar's Open House cancelled today due to weather.
The e-mail said that a student that lives within walking distance of the campus will be there at 9 to show us around if we want. Having made the trip over yesterday, I'm glad to still have a chance to check out the school even if it's more unofficial. The weather is supposed to continue tonight, turning into freezing rain. I'm trying to decide if it'd be better to drive home today or tomorrow. The freezing rain could make it worse tomorrow.

Sonofabitch. So much for that. I think I'm going to drive over and try and meet Ira.

I flew out from California to have the event canceled because of an inch of snow?! anyone in the same boat--stuck in winston--PM me if you wanna sulk about a wasted trip.thestoryends wrote:Threepeat wrote:Silly southerners...any hint of snow/sleet and everyone shuts downtstyler98 wrote:Scholar's Open House cancelled today due to weather. The e-mail said that a student that lives within walking distance of the campus will be there at 9 to show us around if we want. Unfortunately, the south is known for this. I'm heading over for 9 to check out the school, and then I might drive home today. I'd rather drive in snow than freezing rain.

I don't even know what to say, but that does suck! Maybe they will be able to help you out with your expenses? Were you here to see any other schools?sticknbindle wrote:wow... I would say that 164 is the magic number, but there were plenty of 163 and some 162 acceptances. I'm still bitter though.moandersen wrote:snap. looks like today was waitlist day. also seems like 164 is the magic lsat # for admittance. gl to all those sending in a loci.

I'd say 164 does appear to be the magic number, generally, but there was a 165/3.5 that reported a waitlist yesterday on LSN. Perhaps a criminal record is all I can guess?

Re: Wake Forest 2010
So it really sucked that the Scholar Day was cancelled! My mom drove from Wilmington, NC to my apartment in Chapel Hill on Thursday so we could drive to Wake together early this morning. I got off work, my mom got off work, and my boyfriend turned in a paper early to go! Ohhhh well. Can't complain really - sorry to the person who flew from California! Plus, you can't really help bad weather.

Re: Wake Forest 2010
Please look at the profile of this LSNer. This person has been rejected from just about everywhere, some were major reaches but others were schools that are typically auto-admit with those numbers. I'm willing to bet there's either a criminal record or something seriously wrong with his applications.kwhitegocubs wrote:I'd say 164 does appear to be the magic number, generally, but there was a 165/3.5 that reported a waitlist yesterday on LSN. Re: Wake Forest 2010
Question: So the president of my undergraduate institution knows the Dean Morant very well from Wake, 1.) because it's his alma mater and 2.) they both actively recruit around the US so they've met up quite a bit. Also, I know the president of the college quite well and he has implored me on many occasions to allow him to call Dean Morant on my behalf. Does anybody think this could be beneficial and or would be a "couldn't hurt" type situation?? I've already been accepted, I'm just doing everything possible to give myself the best chance possible for scholarship money because it's the only way I will be able to attend Wake, which is definitely one of the top two of places I want to go. All depends on money!! Thanks for any insight!

I would only have him make the phone call if you are definitely going there. Do you have the stats for $ or is this a big favor! It certainly would flag your file.
