rejected, but pretty happy about it. I respect the school and definitely appreciate how they handle the admissions process, but I never wanted to attend (and really, never had a shot since I have auto-reject numbers). I applied to make my parents - who are both alums - happy. And if for some reason I fell threw the cracks and was admitted I would probably have to attend...which is not what my fiance nor I wanted.
Congrats to those who were admitted though!

How many total admits so far Dean Pless, and how is the pace in comparison to last year at this time?

We have about 950 admits thus far. This is more than the same time last year, but we have reviewed more files this year. Offers will be slowing down dramatically over the next few weeks.

Dear Fellow Admitted Students,
We need to put together the greatest 1L softball team of all time. I'm accepting applications.
I was a college softball player, so I think I might be holding tryouts to get on my team. Wanna join forces?

Bummer, got dinged.
I rationalize it as Pless saw that I won two state championships in baseball and just wanted to protect his softball ego.

One more plug for the LSAC Forums coming up this weekend in LA and Oakland. A great opportunity to talk to someone from the schools you are interested in. I will be representing Illinois at both events and look forward to answering any questions you might have about the College. More info can be found here:

Dean Pless,
I've already been accepted but I just have a question out of curiosity. How do you place in order students on the waitlist? I imagine its not first-come, first-serve... or is it?

I've got a straight-up cannon, count me in if I end up attending
PS: Dean Pless, thanks for telling us when today's decisions would be made and giving us specifics about who would be reviewed for those decisions. It made waiting
so much less maddening... if only every school was as transparent.

We don't rank the wait list. As the class begins to shape up with deposits I will look to see where we might be weak and pull people from the list that can help fill those gaps.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
