My review date changed again. They have no idea what to do me with me. Hopefully the LSAT I took today will make the decision easier

Although I meant to add that it looks like last year people with borderline numbers didn't get an acceptance until the last week of March or later. This might require some people to make deposits and then hope for the best.0 and 16 wrote:it doesn't mean anything really. i just want a decision on my app.

UH is looking good for NLJ250 placement at 37th in the country, beating out schools like UGA and UNC while being one percentage point behind W&L.

I'll be the "different" one. I've had my "In Review" status change like 3 times beginning back on 1/7. I have a feeling they're kicking me from FT to PT.

I haven't heard of many schools offering someone admission to PT if they applied for FT, is that commonplace?keg411 wrote:I'll be the "different" one. I've had my "In Review" status change like 3 times beginning back on 1/7. I have a feeling they're kicking me from FT to PT.

Same here... Although my initial 12/18 in review was changed to 1/31 then again to 2/16... I'm pretty sure that the early action deadline for notifying us is the end of February?? Assuming they are closed on the weekend I think that means we should hear by Friday....

I have had the exact same date changes, except instead of 2/16 it changed to 2/14. I called the admissions office last week and asked if early applicants would still be hearing by the end of Feb. They wouldnt give me a direct answer and then suggested I be patient and keep checking the status checker.

I checked to be considered for both FT and PT.DonnyMost wrote:I haven't heard of many schools offering someone admission to PT if they applied for FT, is that commonplace?keg411 wrote:I'll be the "different" one. ETA: Actually, looking over my application, it looks like I only applied to FT. Oh well, if they WL me (which I think is what's coming), I'll tell them I'd consider PT. But honestly, with the tuition raise, UH looks like less of an option than it did for me early in the cycle. The 16+% really makes a difference.

Hey guys I went to under review on 2/18. How long do you think I'll have to wait before I hear from them?

Re: In at University of Houston
When I applied last year I initially had a 156 (Im a URM) from Houston and that got me on the Waitlist. I improved it to a 171 but decided to take a year off. If that could have gotten me a waitlist a year ago I hope my improved score (and for those in the lower 160s) this would help us get in this year. Whats the difference in strategy (between last year and this)?0 and 16 wrote:Since the application deadline has now passed, they have received all the applications they will accept, excluding Feb. LSAT re-takers. I would hope that everyone receives a response before March. However, I'm curious what chances below median LSAT has this year. It seems like the last 2-3 years reflect a different admissions strategy than what's going on in 2010.
You think all applicants should hear by March? I remember last time around Houston took forever to notify people. And I applied early Feb this year so I'm hoping my score gets them to look at me quick, pass judgement, then on to the next one. Cause I know how awful that wait is.

RyShermanJ wrote:Can anyone make sense of this? I sent my application in November received the email confirming it on 11/13. It said my file went under review on 1/5 then changed to 2/16. I have noticed some people LSN hearing back who applied in January. Does that mean I am headed towards a waitlist or something? Or are the people hearing back the auto-accepts?
not sure if this is helpful, however, I just had an admissions advisor tell me that if you applied past their early "rolling admissions" and they are still not 'sure' if they want you...they will continue to backdate your file until everything comes in (yes, that means everyone) ...that could be April for some schools.
I said "wtf?"
the response was they don't want to let you go yet.
hang in there and think positive.

I am so sick of the admissions game. I cant wait for the day that I will see the word Last and actually read it as "last" instead of "LSAT".
