Waitlisted today too - not terribly surprised; my LSAT's a little under the median and I applied late in the cycle. I'll be withdrawing as I intend to accept an offer elsewhere - best of luck to everyone and congrats to everyone accepted!

WL. I'm waitlisted at UCLA too - and six other schools. Think I'll be at 11 waitlists before it's all over.

WL today also. 163/3.8. Complete 12/21. UR 1/9. Seems crazy how many people with better stats got WL. Also WL at UCLA. Going to withdraw, good luck guys...

Yeah, this in all honesty seems like a pretty bullshit tactic to save them money on merit scholarships. I hope they drop in the rankings because they lose their medians because people like me went elsewhere.Stevie_Rave_On wrote:I got waitlisted by UCLA and I'm still waiting to hear back from USC, but what I've read doesn't look promising where merit schollys for WLers are concerned.njdevils327 wrote:I got half tuition to UCLA but waitlisted to USC (A school i wanted to go to more at the beginning of the process)????
So weird. Anyone know or hear of people getting off the waitlist quickly by submitting a LOCI to their Waitlist response form? Or getting money from them after getting on the waitlist?
This sucks....

Some pretty weird waitlist list. They either are playing yield protect or have had a massive increase in apps.

Only possible explanation I can think of would be that, by waiving everyone's application fee this year, they got more apps than expected and can't admit anyone right now in order to keep their small class size.
Unless they had free apps last year too, in which case that explanation goes out the window.

They offered free app last year too. They over enrolled and started offering 5k scholarships to people willing to defer a year, so its likely that they started with many more "for sures" this year

Darn. I'm still just sitting at complete - I wish I'd go under review. Good luck to both those who just went under and the WL folks - fingers crossed!

Believe so. They had so many people apply and get in.Gitaroo_Dude wrote:Only possible explanation I can think of would be that, by waiving everyone's application fee this year, they got more apps than expected and can't admit anyone right now in order to keep their small class size.

Good I hope they have a smaller class this year. That 230something class last year makes me nervous.

They currently have A LOT of money on the table already on LSN and that's just a fraction of applicants I assume. So many are at 157.5k and I bet they want some of the dust to settle on which of those students are going before admitting too many moreMr_Chukes wrote:Believe so. Yeah I can see that. So many people with LSAT's near 170 or High GPA's. They had not done a waitlist or rejection wave until now I believe.chargers21 wrote:They currently have A LOT of money on the table already on LSN and that's just a fraction of applicants I assume. So seeing all of these objectively better splitters get WLd yesterday, I am actually discouraged by the fact that I didn't catch that wave.
When is the first round of rejections coming?! Looks like I need to prepare for impact.

I should have applied for Rothman but it was too business-centric which isn't why I'm going to law school so it felt hollow.

Well Rothman is for a job at Skadden and not a public advocacy group.

I'm saying I wish there was a comparable full-ride scholarship for PI/govt/less-ENTREPRENEURIAL folks akin to what NYU does.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
