Yeah I did submit.... I honestly am on the fence about 2017 admission though. I would like to backpack Europe for the first half of 2018 before I attend LS. that's the last thing that I want to do before I go, and I think it would be worth it to wait and do it properly. I might have to reapply this September...

Man that sounds awesome. I'd say do it while you can. However, it doesn't hurt to keep your options open for this year just incase. Good luck!

Reading about it now. Shit like this will make it the easiest T14 to turn down, lol. Hopefully they burn it down to the ground if that's the kind of people who fill it.
Ironic that you're criticizing people violently protesting then ending with a hope for the school to burn to the ground.

Their doing not mine. Let them cut the nose.
So if I say that I hope a person I dislike commits suicide or otherwise harms themselves, it's totally okay because it would be their doing not mine?

An institution is not a person. A college that fosters that kind of hysterical environment deserves the backlash of its deranged student body as far as I'm concerned.
I'm aware of the difference between an institution and a person. I was merely pointing out that wishing harm on other people (yes, there are thousands of people that are part of that "institution") isn't okay just because it wouldn't be your doing.
At any rate, no point continuing this conversation. As Rigo said, if you hate the school so much just withdraw. Or at the very least don't post your unproductive vitriol in an otherwise positive and informative thread.

It's probably admissions burning our applications so they don't have to read them....

It likely isn't even the students. Leftist anarchist groups and "professional" protestors in the Bay love piggy backing onto these types of demonstrations and fucking shit up.

Also get your facts right. The school had extra measures to try to prevent violence, a few people were violent, one of the main protest organized by STUDENTS was a dance party with the rainbow flag as dress code. So if you're not too keen on facts and so narrow minded, Berkeley thanks you for not coming here.

I've been squatting in the law library to show interest, so yes.
But really I'm a former Californian currently living on the east coast.

canafsa wrote:You're going to straight up lie and say it was "a few people" who were violent? There are dozens of videos all over twitter. Berkeley's response was a smarmy tweet saying "event cancelled" with a picture of the burning quad. I was about to leave this thread alone, but give me a fucking break. Lol at the accusation of being "narrow minded" for condemning a college lynch mob rioting over a speaking event.

With that I'm done.
1. Total students enrollment at Cal around 38000 students. According to UCPD approximate number of protesters when event cancelled : 1500, including non students. You said : "the kind of people who fill it".
2. Some protesters dispersed or displaced their protest once the police made the announcement.-> fewer than 1500 even if one less, yeah?
3. You can actually see on the videos that not all of the protesters are committing violence, but some people are actually hiding their faces and throwing things. I am not saying they are not students, they might as well be, but explain to me how they are representative of a whole school? Enough for you to say "burn it down"?

Edit: "with that I'm done" too.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
