If accepted, how likely are you to attend?

Are you kidding? It's my first choice. Consider my seat deposit sent.

It's high on my list but it's not THE school I'm waiting to hear back from.

It's high on my list, but I can probably be swayed by more money from another school.

Meh... I applied because it's a T14 - we'll see how my cycle goes.

Really just plan on using it for scholarship negotiation purposes.

Still feel really unsure. I'll probably visit or go to ASW to get a better feel for the school/location.

It's first come, first serve based on when you send in the application form which takes just a few minutes to fill out and email to them. I did mine and got an email today that said I'll get a room once I submit my deposit and they start sending leases. Just in case anyone is considering living there and wants to lock in a spot!
I actually turned in the app to live there yesterday and got a spot confirmation today so, if I end up picking Michigan, I'll see ya' in the Lawyers Club!

Question for people: does scholly info come via email or snail mail?
I think both. Not sure about snail mail since I haven't got it yet, but I did receive an email.
Interesting. Have you ever heard of anyone only getting snail mail? (Trying to convince myself that I'm not getting an email because a physical letter is coming XD)
I'm also driving myself crazy waiting on my scholly offer. According to the Admitted Students Facebook page, you'll get an email either way (if you get a scholarship offer or if you are not receiving a merit scholarship offer), so I'm not giving up hope until I hear otherwise! Also, apparently they are still working on offers for people admitted mid-Dec and earlier, and will move onto later admits after that batch is finished. I'm a 12/9 admit so I guess they are still working on the mid-Dec and earlier people.

Have you guys tried going to the ASW and clicking "Admissions Communications"? It may say if a letter was mailed out already. Mine said it a few days before I got the email. Still haven't seen the physical letter though.

Lol sadly enough I do this everyday. Nothing yet. Really hoping to get it soon as it will definitely impact my desire to attend one of their ASWs or not

Hi! Since someone just brought up the Lawyer's Club again...could you speak to how hard it is to find decent, convenient off-campus housing? But if (pet friendly) off-campus housing is a really difficult process, then maybe I'll leave my dog with my SO... Thanks for your insight!

Hi Blue! Congrats on your admission! I understand not wanting to leave a dog behind and it's possible (maybe easy?) to find pet-friendly apartments if you look early. I have a handful of friends with dogs and there is a day each fall where law students bring their dogs to campus to play in the law quad, so there definitely are quite a few around. If you want the Lawyers Club as a fall back option, send in your application for an LC room now (you're not committed to anything until they send the leases out and you sign it in like May) and plan to check out apartments when you visit campus for ASW. If you find something you like, just email the Lawyers Club person and let them know you're withdrawing your application. If not, you'll have it to fall back on for 1L. It's not hard to find things, but you have to do it a little early.

I haven't seen anything yet though! We were admitted near the same time so yours has to be coming!

Does anyone know exactly what date the summer start program starts? (or at least when it started last year?) I couldn't find it online. Thanks!

Coming from NYC I nearly cried looking at the two bedrooms... with laundry... and a dishwasher... and a living room... for less than my studio in Brooklyn used to cost.

Coming from MS, I'm paying $600 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment with a washer and dryer and huge kitchen. Soooo these are actually a little more than I'm used to but still not half bad compared to most big cities.

Yeah, I also find the rent to be a bit high since I'm from the midwest and expected similar prices in Ann Arbor as my UG. Sub $500 rent for 1 bd/1 ba is what I'm used to
Ann Arbor is crazy expensive. It's not like NY, but I guess one of the most expensive places in whole MI. The Lawyers Club is pretty cheap if you don't mind living in a dorm-like place. I did my LLM there and loved living at the Lawyers Club.

Do you have to put in a deposit in order to hold your room? Meaning will you lose the room if you wait a long time to decide on Mich?

Follow up to this question. How hard is it to get to campus if you live off-campus and it's not within walking distance? If I were to go to Michigan, my husband will be coming with me (duh) and so I would want to live somewhere that is convenient for his commute as well as mine. Granted, maybe he'll end up working at/near the university, but I doubt it based on his field. Anyway, my real question is: what is public transit like in Ann Arbor? And if it's bad, how hard is it park on/near campus and would that require paying for parking?

There is no free parking around campus. You either get a parking permit to use at the Business School (super close) [https://pts.umich.edu/parking/students.php] or get the bus. The bus is free for students, but I hated them (especially when it's -20C or 0F outside). Traffic is not so bad (not a consensus here).

There is plenty of off campus housing nearby, in walkable distance, although those tend to be more expensive.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
